Iggy sighed his ears flickering back and forth gently as he thought. " Both I guess...Germany has always had some wierd ideas....and I guess my family decided to follow what wasn't exactly right"

"Hm..." Shade gave him a look. With what she knew about Germany and its history this sounded as if Iggy´s family was part of the very small minority that still lived in the past. It was a pity and it made her slightly angry to see that a kid had had to grow up in such an environment. "Well, that´s how you can be different from them." she said. To her it seemed that Iggy was still struggling to break free, uncertain, insecure because he knew nothing else but the things his family had taught him all his years. "That´s where you can be you. Not them."

Iggy smiled sadly " Umm Shade if you haven't noticed I'm very very different from my family...."

Shade gave him a smile. "I noticed." she said. "And that´s a good thing I´m sure, even though I don´t know much about them."

" Oh it's a good thing" Iggy said smiling evilly " the rest of my brothers look like walking pigs"

Shade laughed at that. She had been referring not to looks but to attitude, but that seemed of little interest right now, or Iggy had understood the hint but decided to twist it his way. Anyways, it was strange to hear someone his age talk about siblings, even if he did not like them by the looks of it. It gave their conversation a strange tinge that Iggy would not notice, resulting in the fact that no matter what the relationship between Iggy and his brothers looked like he... well, he still had brothers. Usually, she would tell anecdotes in return, but about a dead boy? She had all those anecdotes hidden inside her, protected. Not for everyone to glance upon. Little things like Jimmy thinking of himself as the world´s best stone skipper even though he had cheated with his powers to achieve that effect. Little things like that, random to the outer eye, valuable to her. So valuable that few knew. Or rather, just one.

Iggy smiled feeling warm and happy. " You know what Shade?" he grinned staring up at the ceiling. " I have a feeling your the sister I never got"

Her laughter dieing abruptly into a dry chuckle, Shade had the feeling something inside her was twisted into a painful knot. The pain was numb, a pain she had come to terms with, but which was still there. Would always be as a part of herself no matter how she looked at it. She was glad Iggy wasn´t looking her direction, otherwise the slip of composure on her face would have been clearly visible for him. His words had struck. Deeper than Iggy could know. Resulting partly from the fact that he did indeed have similiarities with Jimmy, even if those were limited to age and hair colour and maybe parts of his bubbly attitude but also from the fact that even though Shade no longer tortured herself with what-if-scenarios, she saw things the way that she as a sister had failed. Failed to protect her little brother. "That´s... a nice thing to say." she said, astonished that her voice sounded more normal than she had thought it would. Her instincts told her to find an excuse and get away, but her reason told her than a sudden leave without reason would seem just as odd.

Iggy picked up something wrong when he heard Shade stutter slightly in her words. He glanced at her for a moment unsure of what to say, his ears twitching back and forth as he thought. Finally sighing he spoke softly " Shade...is something wrong?" he said this almost meeting her eyes.

Shade inwardly cursed herself for not having better control over her emotions. Getting a better grip on herself, she feigned a lazy movement that looked like stretching before she got to her feet. Just don´t run, Shade, an inner voice told her. Don´t. "No." she said, not smiling, but not dead serious either. "Don´t worry about it, Iggy." She walked over to where she had left her water bottle, seemingly to take a swig but inwardly almost fighting the urge to escape into the protection of invisibility.

Iggy could tell she didn't want to say anything. This puzzled him and he thought for a moment about what could have hurt her so. ' I can't blame her though...' he thought ' I have alot of things I would never tell anyone...' He got up off the floor grinning reassuringly. " Okay, I won't" he said

Shade placed the water bottle down without really having swallowed anything and turned over her shoulder to give the boy a lopsided smile. "Good." she said. She was glad Iggy didn´t dig any deeper because he would not have gotten an answer to questions of that kind. An answer would have involved an ´I don´t feel quite comfortable with what you just said since I failed to protect my little bro who got killed in my stead in return.´ but of course she would never tell him that. Some people close to her knew of the murder but only with Gambit had she talked about those nagging feelings of guilt and how to deal with them - because Gambit actually didn´t respond to stories like this with a clichée ´It wasn´t your fault´ or a sympathetic ´I can understand´ when really he couldn´t, but because Gambit actually could relate, knowing feelings of that sort himself.

Iggy's ears still flickered with curiosity but he said no more on the matter. He knew that maybe someday Shade would tell him what had bothered her, but for now he was willing to wait until she was comfortable. " Shade you want to know something?" he said standing on his hands in a headstand. " Your a very intresting person"

Shade turned and leant against the wall. Even though that whole conversation wasn´t too easy for her it felt refreshing to talk to someone like Iggy -maybe because he was so young. "What makes me interesting." she said, bemused.

Iggy grinned from his upsidedown veiw of the world. " Well one" he said flipping back onto his feet. " You are not a two dimensional person...you can think. And Two you have secrets...." Iggy chuckled " and people with secrets are always intresting"
