Iggy smiled gently feeling a bit better, at Shade's attemps. " Danke....I feel better now....ummm" he paused " Shade?"

Shade was sure that his doubts ran too deep than possibly being taken away by one rather sloppy example. Still, she felt Iggy needed to feel better about his mutation for a start.
She grabbed for her bottle of water and unscrewed it to take a gulp. "Yes?" she asked.

Iggy smiled " Will you mind if I quote you next time I'm about to get clobbered?"

[Shade]

Shade had to laugh at that even though she felt uneasy at the thought. Not the thought of being quoted, but the thought that he had likely been ´clobbered´ as he called it, quite a few times before. "You can." she said. "and other than that, just walk away. Don´t let people provoke you for what you are. They just want to make you feel bad because they are scared and don´t understand."
Yeah, there you go, Shadey. Lecturing and all.

" yeah....walk away..." he mumbled gently, before shaking his head and flipping onto his hands. He began to walk about the gym.

[Shade]

"You don´t think that´d work?" Shade inquired. Well, she had to admit it didn´t work all of the time. She wasn´t set off easily, but she could get into a mood where she actually hit back and hit back hard. It took quite some provoking to get her there, but it was possible, especially when the provokation was against someone she deeply cared for.
But she could hardly talk in such a manner in front of Iggy. Strike back if you have to? No. She was an instructor at this school and just as she would and could not go around telling people where and how she had gotten her car, she would not let the sort of behaviour slip that could be immitated and not deemed good by the Professor. It was kind of hypocritical and she knew that.

Iggy stopped and turned flipping back unto his feet. " Nein." he said simply

[Shade]

From what little she knew of German and what she concluded from the context, Shade got his meaning. "I´d say depends." she said. "Some people mean to provoke you, because they see it´s the only way they can feel strong. But sometimes you can be stronger with words. No... insults, but good arguments. Verbal fencing, stuff like that." She knew she would not have started fighting Magneto, not until he had attacked her first, because not reacting was a sort of strength in that case. She knew the concept might be difficult to understand for a boy who had been shunned many times for his mutation, but maybe he could learn something from this conversation.

Iggy sat upon the gym floor arms crossed upon his chest, his ears twitching with thought. " I can see where your going vith this, and I'm feeling a lesson coming on" he grinned

[Shade]

Shade smiled at that. "No lesson." she said, shaking her head a little. "But quick wittedness can be helpful and fun. So it´s just an advice, whatever you decide to make of it."

" so use sarcasm and pray to god they won't hit you..." he laughed

[Shade]

Shade smirked. "Not sarcasm." she said. "it´s more finding the faults in what your opposit says. It´s like fencing. Just with words. If you master that, you can get smarter than your opposit and that makes you stronger. Even if it´s just for yourself." It was maybe difficult to explain, but with quick wittedness came self confidence, less naiveness and a more open, more aware outlook at people and the world in general. Shade could vividly picture Gambit throwing up his arms at that description in thought, starting to ramble something that started somewhere along the lines of. "Alors, dat let´s it soun´ like some..." The thought nearly made her chuckle, but she knew it was the truth. She had become smarter through their frequent little verbal barterings.

" Making yourself stronger...." Iggy thought out loud. He had always been taught that to be strong you have to be able to fight, but Shade's description of this new idea seemed to fit the old. He sighed falling on his back and staring up at the gym ceiling.

[Shade]

Shade sat down where she was standing on the gym floor, her arms loosely draped around her knees. "Of course." she said. "Strength isn´t just a physical thing."

" try explaining that to my family...." he mumbled gently as he stared up at the ceiling. His family had always been a sore spot around him, but with Shade he felt better when he spoke of them.
