Morph was getting out of breath. He was no match in speed to an aircraft, even though, for a living being, he was certainly flying really fast. Though he did see where the aircraft turned; he tried to remember the exact place and hurried there. His wings were already tired, they had to carry a big weight.

There was no memory left in Shade so far regarding her flight from the sentinel, but maybe a soul never forgot something like the intense fear that comes with knowing there is someone coming after you. Or in this case... something.
She raised her eyes when she heard the rumble and her eyes widened. There was no mistaking for her. These men, the soldiers, might be under the blonde mutant´s influence so far but, that thing up there.. certainly was not. "Guys..." she said, uncertainly, feeling her fingertips start to prickle, her muscles suddenly tense. "we really should get away from here."

Michael realized that, although the two men he was controlling could feel no negative emotions at the moment, they were not scared but they still acted like they needed to leave at once. This meant, to him, that the reason for leaving was so serious that it didn't require any fear or anxiety as an additional motivation.
So, when the aircraft appeared, Michael easily made the conclusions that it was not a friendly one. At least not friendly to humans. Unconsciously, he made a few steps back, not yet thinking of running properly but not wishing to stay close to this thing, either.

"Couldn't agree more," Alex nodded. The thing that had stopped in the air in front of them looked like a piece out of a science fiction movie, and not a very nice one at that. How fitting, considering their costumed party...
Almost as a reflex, one his arms tightened, ready to channel his powers at any second. "Get us to your vehicle!" he demanded from the camouflaged men, rushing towards them.

Violet followed Alex, who was following the military men, who seemed to still be calmed by the other mutant's ability. She allowed herself a single glance at the aircraft above them. Anything more would have inhibited her functioning. She looked back at the others and cried "C'mon, we have to get out of here!" Even in her desperate fear, the safety of the others was a priority for her.

Without any warning or pauses, as soon as the living beings were identified as threatening, both because of their weapons and recognized mutant abilities, the aircraft fired. The two armed men dive-jumped out of its firing range, not too successfully, but they had been ready to react as soon as it had appeared.

Michael ran and was then thrown off his feet by an explosion that caught a pile of bricks behind him. He flew off and onto the ground, and his heart stopped the second after the impact.
As he dropped into the already familiar darkness of dying, his body disappeared from the street, his mind returning from the illusion to the Hellfire Club's dancefloor.

Alex acted instinctively, throwing his hand up the instant his mind registered the first signs of trouble. He fired a wide arch of plasma, then turning it into a hemisphere as he tried to respond to the aircraft's shooting or at least protect himself and others around him by producing some sort of interference for the attack. He yelled as he did so, "Get to cover, now!", referring to everyone at once.

When it came to Shade, mutants suddenly vanishing were the last thing that would concern her - usually. But this was different. She had used her powers from reflex, before she was aware of vanishing, she already had, her powers kicking in simultaneously with her flight instinct as she leapt forward when the aircraft started to fire. She had eye contact with Michael when it happened, her eyes widening in shock as he was suddenly gone. She did a jump forward, invisibly, partly jumping, partly driven by the pressure of the impact and got the end of Violet´s jumper, instantly extenting her powers to the other woman and hiding them both, half staggering, half running. "Run!" she called out, her voice shaking as she tried to pull Violet with her.

Violet had known from the beginning of this mess that being invisible would hinder her. As soon as she looked down and saw her body was no longer there, her panic mounted and she stopped moving. The pause would have been negligible if things weren't exploding around them. A piece of shrapnel bounced off a nearby wall and embedded itself into Violet's skull, killing her instantly. She vanished from the war zone and woke up anxious and confused, but safe, in Hellfire, where the party was still in full swing.

Breathless, barely holding in the air, Kevin arrived to the scene of commotion soon after the shooting started. He was happy to see it: finally some people in this frigging empty place! So what if they were shot at! At least there was life here besides flying robots.
Stopping behind the aircraft but in sight of everyone remaining on the street, he remorphed into his human form, holding onto a dead car and breathing hard. He tried to orient himself in the situation and see if he could help with something.

The machine kept shooting, trying to clear the view from the unwanted organisms. Two were already gone; three remained and one more appeared on infrared but not on visual.
The plasma shot that had been directed at the aircraft was met with a forcefield but it disrupted the laser shots, weaking them and deflecting them at the nearby walls.

One second her hand had been grabbing Violet´s, then it was suddenly gone. Dissolving, and Shade´s had grabbed nothing but thin air. The men were moving, things were starting to become really dangerous around them and another shot hit, somewhere very close, missing her by just a few inches and the fact that it missed her was mere chance, because the instant Violet was gone, Shade had stopped in her tracks, mortified, trying to feel for the other woman in a frantic panic, acting against better knowledge: she was gone. Just like the blonde mutant moments before. Hit by something and gone.
Probably no more than a second or two had passed since it had happened, but that brief instant felt like so much longer. Shade could feel her panic rise again, more poweful than before. Violet was gone....either dead or yet again put at some other place that was possibly even more dangerous. And it was probably her, Shade´s, fault. They were in danger. They all were, but as much as she wanted to help, wanted to save the others, she didn´t dare grab for another, didn´t dare to use her powers on someone else again. She just ripped herself out of her own terror and ran, following the others.
Another blast from the aircraft hit the building they were passing, breaking lose a part of the walls, making large bits of stone fall in their path, blocking her way. Shade did a jolt to the side, wanted to run around it, but that would have meant running right into the line of fire. She needed cover. Another blast, far closer this time, finally triggered her panic. She could feel something happening to her powers, a kind of surge, that made them far more drainign all of a sudden and she turned right sharply, bolding away , jumping over a piece of debris. She didn´t notice that her feet had stopped causing sound, her body had stopped giving off heat. What had saved her once, her stealth, was back, once more triggered by a life threatening situation, but she didn´t notice, just ran, turning into a side street. On the other side, she told herself, just a few yards ahead, she would be able to cross back over to the others. She certainly would. She told herself that over and over again, the thought of being completely alone here being even more terrifying than the current situaiton was anyways.

Alex was glad to see that his powers worked as at least some distraction for the aircraft. Briefly he glanced around to see how others were faring-
And found no one but two military men, one of them already injured, scrambling to their feet and trying to run and hide. Violet, Shade and the blond guy were gone. He could only assume that Violet and Shade were using Shade's powers for cover, but he had no way of telling that.
Still, since there was no one who needed cover from the aircraft's lasers, Alex decided it was time for him to get away from it as well. Trying to see where he was running and at the same time to keep an eye and the aimed hand on the hovering menace behind him, Alex made for the nearest building as quickly as he could, hiding behind its windowless walls.

Kevin remorphed into a large dog, figuring he'd be faster and less conspicuous this way, and ran past the shooting aircraft in the same direction where he'd seen the other man take off to. He needed to catch up and talk to him.
