Training Shade

[Shade]

"How about you show me some pieces first and then you give me something to draw and I try to put down on paper what I have in mind?" Shade suggested, thinking that it didn´t have to be either or at all.

[Gambit]

"Well, there's no hurry," the man said, "I don't start on the design until the first tryout, anyway." He looked at Gambit. "You can find some stuff back there near the wall- well, show her."

Gambit got up from his chair and walked in the pointed direction, beckoning Shade to follow him.

[Shade]

Shade followed him into the back of the room. As discomforting as it was that Gambit deemed it necessary to have her equipped like this, in a way, she was starting to take a liking in this.

[Gambit]

There were only two costumes, all different and all men's. One was armored, much like Gambit's, but less detailed; another was very simple and the third one something in between. The designs varied, too, between random geometric patterns all over and simple one-colored with only a spot reserved for a yet-unknown logo on the chest.

"Look at dat," Gambit said, "guys are gettin' equipped."

[Shade]

Shade had a look at the costumes. "Guys, apparently," she said, noticing that there was not a single female costume among the ones on display. "So either girls these days are better equipped power wise than me or have less considerate boyfriends." The master was out of earshot and part of her noticed that. Shade with a memory would have known it was important to not give away too much in public.

She had a look at one costume that had two different colours and let her fingers run over it. "I like something like that," she said. it was a rather simple, yet elegant looking design, two colours, one of the inside of legs, the other on the outside, same with the arms and torso. "Black and dark red or something."

[Gambit]

"What, no pink-and-yellow?" Gambit teased, poking her lightly in the side. "We got time for you to just sit at home an' jot down some design ideas if ya want. If not, you can rely on de man's taste, he's got it."

[Shade]

Poking him back, Shade gave a small, fake indignant snort, then shrugged. "If he made yours, he definitely got style, but you know how women can be. Plus, this is too much fun to just let him do all the work and not add my probably poor two cents."

[Gambit]

"You can totally have your fun wit' design," Gambit assured her, flattered by her comment on his costume but not showing it. "Or we could also hire a professional. Pourquoi pas."

[Shade]

Pretty poor skills in designing put aside, Shade knew there was no way to just let the guy design away. Not that she didn´t trust the result to look badass, but heck, it would mean to pass on so much fun. She was starting to get positively excited about this. "Gooood." she sad, rubbing her hands. "well, in case the guy is okay with it and he has some pen and paper, I could give it a try right away, right?"

[Gambit]

"Yup," Gambit said, smiling at her obvious excitement about all of this. "Let's see if we can find somethin'-" Within a minute, a sheet of paper and a pen were found, and he once again sat down on the same chair, watching Shade.

[Shade]

Shade sat down and rubbed the pen between her palms before looking at the paper. She wasn´t too great at sketching so the proportions didn´t look perfect, but she didn´t mind that too much.

For a few minutes, she didn´t talk, engrossed in what she was doing, before finishing her draft and using a few little arrows to explain which colours she saw where, since she just had one pen and not a whole box of crayons.
"Something like this," she said, turning the sketch for Gambit to see.

[Gambit]

Gambit tilted his head, studying the design sketch. "Mm, nice," he said with a brief nod. "De gloves look sexy. Ya gonna have some logo on dat belt?"

[Shade]

"Nah, I don´t think so," Shade said. "I don´t really have any kind of logo I could put on there Unless you got some kind of inspiration and I could put it on there as a good luck charm or something."

[Gambit]

Gambit gave a long, theatrical shrug. "No idea," he said. "It's yours - whatever strikes your fancy."

[Shade]

Shade had another look at the sketch. "Well, maybe there is something that would," she said. "something that´s super meaningful, and later I´ll remember it and be annoyed at myself for putting something totally stupid on it instead, so I guess I´ll leave it free for now."
