"Nothing weapon specific, more just something that randomly came to mind right now." Shade said. "What can I do to defend myself when I´m already on the ground?"

"Well, you can always try an' kick me in de balls," Gambit said. "Attack my face, eyes, neck," briefly he pointed at some sensitive spots around his arms and upper body, just to give Shade an idea of what could possibly be done.

Shade nodded. "I guess it´s something I would do when being in real danger. Using my nails on your face, kicking between your legs and such. I kind of can´t do that with you." There were limits in training. The smack against the ankle had apparently hurt, but she would not go as far as actually intent to try and hurt.

"Well, ya have to," Gambit replied. "Ya can't learn if ya don't do it. Your body has to have it on automatic, so ya gotta try it. I'll make ya if I have to."

Shade put her hands on her hips, looking a bit insecure. "You want me to hurt you?" she asked. It was a rhetorical question as it seemed and she had seen by now from the mere fact that she stood no chance against him even when using her powers, that he was not that easy to hurt but still.

"To try, at least," Gambit said, closing his bo staff. "But we'll do it in costumes, of course."

"Okay," Shade said, her eyes slightly narrowed. "Cause I know stronger and all that, but I´d hate to be responsible for poking your eyes out or accidentally castrating you." She smirked slightly. "That would be a shame."

Gambit shook his head with half a smile. "Impossible, chere. Let's leave it at dat," he said. "Now-" he described a wide semicircle with his arm. "Your playground. Run an' hide. Off you go, I'll come chasin'."

Shade ran off immediately, making a sharp turn to the right at the nearest possibility and vanishing as soon as she set off. She knew he would be able to see the dust that her feet caused and knew he was fast, therfore decided it would be easiest to confuse him. Go in a circle. As soon as she had turned the corner, she picked up a stone and let it clatter against something that lay in the other direction before continuing her circle with another turn to her right.

Gambit gave her a few seconds' headstart and followed, extending his bo staff again. He wasn't going to actually chase her down and make her surrender - he just wanted to give her the impression that she had to run and hide, so that she'd actually practice it for a bit. He noticed the first turn she'd taken and went there, going after her and trying to run lightly, listening to her steps that could possibly be heard.

Shade could see him from where she was, slowly turning a corner and moving away from him, making sure she didn´t cause any noise. Trying to outrun him would be useless, not without a significant headstart and she didn´t have that yet. He was a good bit away from her, but heading into her direction so she made her way further along the cross section to the right. He would arrive at that crossing in a moment and she was careful, trying to not leave traces.

As Gambit reached the crossing, he had to stop, unable to tell at once where Shade had turned. He would rely on his hearing next, though his empathy sort of gave him a vague hint at which direction was more likely.

She was standing motionless to his right, a few paces away. Not in the middle of the path with scrap to both sides, but more to the right. The ground was solid, but a little dusty. Shade looked down, doing a slow, careful step backwards, careful to place her foot without making a sound. She needed to get further away from him before it would make any more sense to run, she needed to get out of his field of vision before she could run, because otherwise he would see the dust whirled up by her feet. She moved, but very slowly, very carefully, looking down and then up at him again, watching his reaction and taking care not to rouse the dust.

Gambit turned his head this way and that, guessing the direction he'd need to go. There was no way of telling it for sure, more like intuition at work. He stepped towards where Shade was standing, holding his bo staff the same way as he had done in the abandoned office building, so that he wouldn't accidentally pass her by.

Shade turned her head the other direction. There was a labyrinth behind her it seemed and he was coming closer. She knew she had to react now and did, running off and ahead, away from Gambit, directly turning to her left where another ´path´ opened up, hoping there would be another. He was a few leaps behind her and she instantly turned left again, running back a few paces the direction she had come from, then stopping abruptly. If he followed her, he would be faced with the choice of turning right, left or running on. She was to the left, ready to run on.
