"I know far better than you do," ::Pietro told her frankly, and he did. He could not claim to know Magneto better than anyone alive, but he *knew* far more than everyone, save a handful of people.:: "He is impotent, empty."

She looked at him briefly, although her eyes still followed the invisible Magneto. "He didn't have to take drugs, so Ah don't think impotent is the right word." She didn't really look back on those memories with any fondness, but she wouldn't pass up a chance, even handling someone else's illness, to get a dig in.

::Her response came as a non-sequitur, as Pietro did not make a habit of reflecting on Magneto's sexual escapades, or on anyone's, for that matter - which might be yet another difficulty with his relationship history. English was not his first language, and when he thought of "impotent" he thought of "not powerful," rather than assigning the other connotation of lacking virility.
As such, it took a brief instant for him to realize that the "pills" to which she referred were a medication to enhance sexual capability, and that was a mental image that he did not need. He reminded himself that she was temporarily rendered mentally deficient, and thus did not snap at her. Pulling on all of his patience, he said,:: "He cannot get you."

She glowered at him, got up. "Not like bein' here staring at you has anything to do with that," she said, a little sarcastically.

"I am trying to help you," ::Pietro pointed out, and he was holding back his own sarcasm at her tone.:: "Think whatever you want."

"Whatever, Ah'm goin' inside." She didn't look at all like being alone and going inside was exactly a good idea, given how she kept looking around and began walking as if being stalked. But the lucid part of her was tired of the constant conversational barbs.

::There was that cautious, responsible part of Pietro - the part that had been fostered by Uncle in his youth - that made him move from the tree trunk and walk beside her, lest she fall.:: "Fine. We will go inside."

She turned with narrowed eyes but kept walking, not caring in the least about what he did.

::Pietro walked beside her back to the mansion proper.::
