A Little Hallucination

[Rogue]

She left off the subject, seeming to calm down a little. They didn't have a lot in common, and talking was hard enough when you had other voices besides Pietro's that talked back to you. She touched her forehead, where a white bandage was, probing gingerly. "Anyone say how Ah hit my head?"

[Pietro Maximoff]

"No," ::Pietro would tell her if someone had told him, but Torres had only mentioned a head injury, not the circumstances.:: "Only that you hit your head, not how."

[Rogue]

"Great," she muttered, still halfway lucid. "Least it coulda done was knock some memory outa me."

[Pietro Maximoff]

"There's still time," ::Pietro told her. From anyone else, it could be a joke, but not from him. He knew that memory loss could set in later.::

[Rogue]

She didn't take it as a joke, but took it completely the opposite way otherwise. "Figures you'd want me to get cracked in the head again. You do it yourself there'll be problems."

[Pietro Maximoff]

"If I wanted to crack your skull open, you would be in traction," ::Pietro told her seriously, without hesitation. It was not a threat, and he was not offended by her comment. This was a simple fact, and if they were airing their grievances now, then so be it.:: "You are not, so you can assume I don't."

[Rogue]

"You're lucky Ah don't want anymore sh*t in mah head," she replied. "Otherwise the person with a problem might be you. Bad enough Ah remember what's in your girlfriends head, don't get me started." She generally had little problems with Typhoid herself, but there were memories she frankly didn't want.

[Pietro Maximoff]

"Only if you lived," ::Pietro told her frankly, replying to the first half of her comment. That was the benefit of superhuman speed; he *could* snap anyone's neck before the other person could blink. And if she did survive, he had to assume that his racing thoughts would drive her insane, because her brain, her body, wasn't wired the way that his was. He had thought about this before, contemplating battle scenarios back when she'd been a Brotherhood member. But this was largely rhetorical now, as he wasn't going to try to hurt her, and she, in turn, had no desire to touch him.

No, it was the other half of her comment that irritated him. Rossignol's past hadn't happened to her; it had been *inflicted upon* her, and that made a world of difference in terms of accountability. It made him protective, particularly when others might pass judgment.:: "*Don't* get started."

[Rogue]

"Why not? At least she knows more about what's runnin' around in mah head then all the others Ah got stuck in here," Rogue replied, casting him a narrow eyed look. She still saw eyes, everywhere, and it was starting to get to the point where she'd have to seek out more experienced help then Pietro. For Rogue, that was saying something.

[Pietro Maximoff]

::Pietro gave her a glare, because he did not believe it possible to be that willfully obtuse. However, he asked,:: "Do you still think you are being watched?"

[Rogue]

"Ah still KNOW I'm bein' watched, which means Ah need to be either put to sleep or locked up while Ah'm still aware, and Ah don't need your opinion on which," she said, the last part almost an afterthought. She was seeing people again.

[Pietro Maximoff]

::Pietro's expression did not change, although he was inclined to scowl.:: "Then make a choice, and I will deliver."

[Rogue]

"No offense, Pietro, but if it's gonna come to poking me with a needle, it's not gonna be you doin' it," she said, not focused on him, but instead watching Magneto pace around them yet again. "He's gonna get us."

[Pietro Maximoff]

"I can get the Professor," ::Pietro pointed out to her. Obviously. He had no desire to stick her with a needle either. At her comment, he did not so much as blink or turn around.:: "He will not."

[Rogue]

"You don't have his powers, you don't know," she said, although it was with the absent, paranoid tone of one not really paying attention to what she was saying.
