Fourth of July Barbecue

Liam glanced over at the other woman playing with what seemed to be her daughter. He then quickly glanced back to Paige with a look that said 'Oh you have got to be kidding me'

[Husk]

Paige just smiled gently, trying not to make it obvious that she had been looking at Mystique. Glancing back down at the cookies she continued to arrange them.

[Mystique]

Pretending to toss Abigail, she held her up high. Her daughter liked that game, and she giggled and laughed. Though she felt something was off, like she was the topic of a conversation she couldn't hear. Mystique looked around, and realized no one was really talking.

Liam was still slightly confused. "Doesn't anyone normal work in this joint?" he said softly, mostly to himself.

[Husk]

Paige's brows furrowed at that comment, turning to look at him she then asked, "What do you mean by normal?"

[liam]

Liam's eyebrows rose slightly at her tone. "I mean normal by anyone who doesn't currently have a criminal record or has tried to blow this place up before."

[Husk]

Paige's brows shot up at his comment, "Um, yeah, a lot of people actually."

[liam]

Liam tilted his head thinking. "I must of not have met them yet..." he muttered again to himself before stopping and thinking about what he had said.
"Shite I'm an idiot."

[Husk]

Paige was rather insulted by his comment and it showed with her expression, not commenting on his latter words, she instead went back to what she had been doing.

[liam]

Liam sighed and began to mentally beat himself for his last words.
Turning to Paige he spoke softly trying to fix his last mistake. "Paige...I'm sorry I didn't mean it, really."

[Husk]

"Okay." Paige said simply, still rather upset with him. Right now her eyes were glued to the cookies, not looking at him again.

[liam]

Liam could tell he had really upset her and thought about saying something but was silenced by an utter lack of what to say. Moving next to her he looked at the cookies and spoke softly "Need help?"

[Husk]

"No, ah got it." Paige said, her southern accent becoming rather pronounced now.

[liam]

'Shite.' Liam thought as he heard her accent become more pronounced now.
Now he knew that she was really upset.
Still watching her work he felt like it had been a bad idea for him to even think he could attempt a family holiday.
"I wish I had rewind..." he mumbled.

[Husk]

Paige didn't say anything to him at the moment. Instead she looked to the Professor, "Anythin' else you want me to do?" She asked him.
