Fourth of July Barbecue

[The Man]

::The Professor smiled at both Raven and Abigail as they appeared. In particular, he approved of Abigail's outfit for the day; it harkened back to his own childhood when they had several outfits for holidays. However, he was behind the grill, and Abigail's squriming concerned him.:: "Keep her from the grill; it is on."

[Mystique]

"I will, Charles," Mystique promised. Sitting down on one of the benches, she played a game with Abigail, where she held her high, and suddenly low, making faces.

[Husk]

"Alright." She said to the Professor before she started to place them in the order she saw fit. A bit hungry, she took a cookie just as Mystique greeted everyone, "Hey." She said with a smile before taking a bite out of her cookie. When Abigail called the Professor her 'daddy' she almost choked on her cookie. There was no way he and Mystique were a....couple, were they? That came as a huge surprise to her and she looked at the two in surprise, before she passed a glance at Ty as if silently asking, 'Are they a couple?'

[Typhoid]

Ty had begun to slice the watermelon with an expert hand, not from cooking practice, but merely from knowledge of how to use a knife. She caught Husk's look and nodded, wishing she had telepathy to explain.

[The Man]

::The Professor was, of course, aware of Paige's question, but he behaved as though he were not. It allowed for privacy, both hers, and the veil of his own that he often pretended to have. Using the spatula, he pressed the meat patties, to help them cook.::

[Mystique]

Raven held Abigail up high, and suddenly brought her low, which led Abigail to laugh loudly. "Do you need any help, Charles?" She asked, looking over at him.

[Husk]

Paige couldn't believe this, in fact, she thought this was some sort of joke. She was still a bit weary around Mystique after all she's done, and yes Paige was the type to forgive and forget, but she had been Magneto's right arm for quiet some time before she came here. For now, she just went back to arranging the cookies, though she did look at Ty once in a while as if silently having a 'I can't believe this' conversation with her.

[Typhoid]

Ty was still catching Husk's looks as she put the watermelon on a plate and brought it over. "A lot of people have a problem with it," she said, responding to the unspoken comments.

[liam]

Liam had always liked holidays. The feeling of closeness with the people around you, the joy that was almost tangible in the air, all this appealed to him. Or it used to.
After his powers made them selves known things had changed slightly.
So now as he made his way to his very first Fourth of July party he wondered, What in Hell was he thinking?


He could see people were already there and his stomach flipped slightly. He had dressed for the occasion in a simple white long sleeved shirt and dark blue jeans. He pulled slightly at his shirt sleeve and said a quiet hello to all who were there.

[The Man]

"No, I am fine," ::The Professor reassured Raven. She could tend to Abigail, and he could grill easily enough. A moment later, Liam appeared, and he smiled softly at the young man.:: "Happy Independence Day, Liam."

[Husk]

Paige turned her head when she heard someone say hello. Smiling when she saw it was Liam she then said, "Hey." To him before going back to arranging the cookies on the platters.

[liam]

Liam nodded shyly "Same to you to Sir."
He glanced around slightly nervous and taking in who was already there. From what he saw the only person he knew was Paige.
Sighing he moved quickly over to where Paige stood arranging cookies and spoke his accent thick. "Happy Fourth. Now who are all these other people?"

[Husk]

Paige smiled lightly when he made his way over towards her, "Well, you know the Professor...and that's Mystique and that's Ty." She said quietly , so none of the others could hopefully hear her speak.

[liam]

Liam glanced up quickly at the two other women before quickly averting his eyes. "Mystique? Why does that name sound familiar?" he whispered back.

[Husk]

"Because...she used to work for Magneto." She said quietly to him, all the while watching her and her daughter interact.
