"Okay," Gambit nodded. "So should I stay here an' wait for ya?"

"You won´t have to stay and wait anywhere." Shade said, already walking some steps, her eyes hefted to the ground. "Guess as it´s pretty dry I´ll find what I need around here." She walked another few steps until she reached some trees. Bustling around on the floor she quickly found a dry stick which was about one and a half hands long. She took it and went on looking.
After some minutes she had found what she needed. She didn´t know if it would work but she at least wanted to try it. It had been years. She sat down in the middle of the clearing again her legs crossed and placed a flat, thick piece of dry branch in front of her. Setting the tip of the thinner stick onto it, she carefully placed a huff of dried grass around it, then started to twirl the stick between her hands quickly to generate some heat.

Gambit lay down on his stomach, propping his cheek on one hand. "Dat goes together wit' your Indian status?" he asked.

Shade looked up at him with a smirk. "Rather with my status of having been a forest kid. We used to do that a lot and I´m curious if it still works." She kept rubbing her hands for quite a moment until saw a very thin line of smoke from it. She softly blew against it but did so too much and extinguished the fire ere there was a flame. After another three or so minutes it worked.

"Ha, so it works," Gambit exclaimed, chuckling. "So what are we gonna do - fry sausages?"

"Yup." Shade said, carefully adding some extra dry grass to the little smoldering flame to keep the fire going and feed it. "Unless you want to go hunt something that is."

Shade suppressed a grin and feigned seriousness. "It is." she agreed. "but you´ve got to be a pretty good hunter, Shade´s are rather rare."

"I know a few very good tricks t' attract 'em," Gambit said, smirking.

Shade looked up at him, adding a few little sticks to the fire. "Oh really." she asked. "what sort of tricks."
She noticed they had this strange way about talking about each other in third person at times. She didn´t know why, maybe because it added a playful tone to a normally slightly more serious topic? Or because they both liked their little verbal fencings? She didn´t really know.

Gambit unfastened their bags and returned to her. "For one, I could use m'self as a live bait," he suggested. "Works excellently, I've heard."

Shade set the handfull of grass and twigs down on the ground and continued to stir the fire while she started to form a ring of stones she had collected earlier around it to keep the fire from spreading. "Yeah, that might work." she said, feigning seriousness. She softly blew against the flame, then straigtened up and rubbed her hands to clean them from the grass. "What about the Gambits?" she asked. "How to best catch them?" She looked up at him, the hint of a smile in the corners of her mouth, but when she said these words she suddenly knew that the ´catch´ was not just about physical attraction.

"Gambits are hard t' catch," Gambit said, his face expressing the complete hopelessness of such endeavour. "And den, when you catch one, he's probably gonna fight for his life an' try t' get away."

Shade looked at him from the corners of her eyes for a moment, her head tilted to the side. "That would make it an extra challenge to catch one." she said.

"Well, yeah, but..." Gambit opened the bag and continued talking, taking stuff out of the bag. "What would you do wit' 'im?" he shrugged as if they were discussing catching a beaver.
