Gambit leaned back, propping on his elbows, leaving Shade sitting on his lap. "Tell ya what," he said, "I never see it in such conventional terms. It's a tad more complicated dan black-an'-white division. Been raised in voodoo traditions... taught t' trust a voudoun witch... but on de streets, practical as a thief an' a hustler should be. De older I got, de worse the difference between spiritual an' down-to-earth became. Now it's all in me in such terrible proportions dat I can't tell one from another."

Shade listened. "So it´s more like... a feeling?" she suggested. "Like when you see something or hear something, like, keeping somewhere in the back of your head what you grew up with and although you´re trying to keep down to earth, there are situations where you get a good or bad feeling for no obvious reason?"

"I can't say yes or no," Gambit replied. "I ain't even tried puttin' it into words, so what you're describin' is probably fittin', too."

"Yeah." Shade said, furrowing her brow in thought. "Some things are awefully difficult to put into words. But it´s an interesting topic somehow."

"It is," Gambit nodded, "like most other topics," he snickered.

"True." Shade said, chuckling. "You know what? Sometimes I think we´re both ramblers in a way. And that´s not even a bad thing."

"Hate t'disappoint ya, chere," Gambit said, "I usually tune into people when I need t' maintain contact. Dey don't talk much - I don't talk much. Dey keep a high-society air - I do the same. Shade rambles - I try t' keep up."

Bluntness again. And it didn´t sting. Instead, Shade feigned shock, looking at him with her mouth open. "You´re getting used to me." she exclaimed, hinting at the way he would say things like that.

"Totally." Shade replied making a face. "Well as long as you don´t start to imitate my style and steal my clothes, I´ll be fine."

"Alors, the day I start becomin' invisible is prob'ly when you should begin t' seriously worry," Gambit said.

Shade nodded. "Seriously, yes." she agreed, grinning. "Although that´s tons of fun really... at times." She leant back to prop on her arms. How late was it anyways. She found she had no idea. Early afternoon she guessed.
Gambit and Shade stayed at the clearing for some more time. After another about two hours, they went looking for their horses, packed their things and went back to the mansion.
