Shade had spent the night at Gambis boathouse. She had slept in, not because she had been overly tired, but just because she had felt lazy and as Gambit had told her earlier he would have to get up really early to get some work done, she had simply felt too lazy and unmotivated to get up.
It was half past 9 when she stepped out of the boathouse and onto the grounds. It was warm, but not hot outside and there were still some clouds that veiled parts of the sky but apart from that things looked like the weather would turn out pretty fine later that day. Balancing a tray with some croissants, jam, honey and two huge cup of cocoa in front of her, Shade had decided to first have a totally relaxing breakfast. Maybe Gambit would spot her and join her which was why she had taken more food and cocoa than she needed herself.
She sat down at her favourite place, leant her back against Michael-Sidney and grabbed for a croissant, starting to eat. She closed her eyes.

The morning had been very quiet; Gambit had been up since seven, inspecting the condition of the facade of the mansion. He noticed that one wing had gone through some big repairs recently. Could it have something to do with the recent attack? - there was no way of telling it, but he could see that damage (and subsequently the repairs) was simultaneous and homogeneous. He made a mark in his palm PC to pay closer attention to communications in that part of the bulding later.
When Gambit made a full circle around the building and returned to the lake side of the mansion, he noticed Shade sitting under a tree not far off. He walked over there and sat down next to her. "Morning," he said.

Shade looked at him and flashed him a smile. "Morning." she said as well, reaching over for the tray to grab for a croissant. "Hungry?" she asked.

"Well, if ya give me your permission t' steal food, you'll find out pretty quickly," Gambit grinned. "In de meantime - happy birthday," he leaned to kiss her.

Shade returned the kiss, deepening it for some time before she broke away again, looking at him with a grin. "Thanks. Well, technically speaking you would re-steal it." she said. "I raided your fridge."

"My philosophy regardin' stolen things can be summed up by a phrase 'Finders keepers'," Gambit informed her, "so if ya steal somethin', it's yours, an' past stealin' don't count anymore."
With that, he took the other cup of cocoa.

Shade chuckled. "That´s a good one." she said, taking a sip of her cocoa, leaning back against the tree and lazily closed her eyes.

"Ain't got any bad ones," Gambit grinned. "So, what are Shade's plans for today?"

Shade stretched her legs while she grabbed for another croissant. She had had plans for a party for the previous night which she had discared again because of what had happened to Rogue. She would have felt bad about celebrating. "Well, normally I would have slept through half of the day because of the party but as there was none..." she shrugged then tilted her head to the side, looking at Gambit. "I don´t know. I guess I´ll just see what my brain randomly comes up with."

"Okay," Gambit nodded. "Keep Gambit updated, den." He could suggest a few ideas, but since that was her day, he didn't want to have his influence on her as far as her plans went.

"I will." Shade said, continuing her breakfast. "Actually..." she said after a moment. "I was thinking about that idea I had some days ago. I had a look at the stables and there are some horses in there we could take out for the day." It had been years since she had last done some riding. She had never had proper lessons, but done it more for fun, typical career of a country kid.

Remy looked at her, smiling and squinting one eye at the sun. "Dat's what I was gonna suggest but didn't," he said.

Shade snickered a little and grinned at him. "Really?" she asked. "It was the first thing that came to my mind."

"Well, ya mentioned it earlier, and it just kinda stuck in my brain," Gambit explained.

Shade smiled at him. "Good." she said, then looked up at the sky. It was clearing already but it wouldn´t get too hot a day. "I already bought some stuff for barbeque for my non-existant party." she pondered. "So we either make the effort to hunt some rabbit or whatever when we´re out there riding or we are just lazy and take some of the sausages along and stirr a fire somewhere to grill them."
