Shade narrowed her eyes slightly. She did not have to shift on the chair as she did not block any light being invisible, but there was very little light, barely enough to see. For a moment she considered taking out her cell phone to used it as an improvised lamp, but then decided against it. She didn´t think there was anybody watching the garage front right now because if they had, that person might already on his or her way down, having witnessed a chair move and the lid of the panel get unscrewed by seemingly noone. She listened into the night for a moment. Somewhere, way off, a dog barked, but stopped again after a few seconds. Shade took out the the plyers after storing te screw driver and decided for the top wire, grabbing it and carefully forcing it the way Gambit had told her to. She wondered whether the door would open immidiately once the wire came into contact with the junction point.

Rotating upwards slowly with some minor noise, the door went to open and reveal the Jaguar. "Now we wait," Gambit told Shade. "Ya better fix de switchboard cover back, at least wit' two screws."

Shade grabbed for the screwdriver again and picked two screws. Her heart beat was increasing slightly. It was just as if one tried to escape invisibly and was scared of a door panel creaking and the sound with which the garage opened sounded louder in her ears than it was. She forced herself not to grin and get distracted by her slight feeling of success, but started reapplying the lid. When she was done with the second screw and was about to grope her pockets for the third, she caught a light from the corner of her eyes. Someone, it seemed, had a light sleep. "Damn." she cursed in a low voice.

"Easy," Gambit said, watching the light in one of the windows. "Jus' stay where an' how you are."

"Okay." Shade replied, nevertheless slowly and soundlessly climbing down the chair. There was no danger for anyone seeing her as long as she used her powers, but if whoever they had woken up saw the open garage door and decided to investigate, he or she might wonder at an overly heavy chair. She walked over to the other side of the open gate from where she could watch the light better. Someone had stepped to the window, peeking from behind the curtains. Shade stood remained where she was.

The house owner obviously noticed the raised garage door and, judging by the lights in the house, decided to go investigate.
Gambit couldn't see Shade, but he knew she was out of trouble when invisible - unless there was a dog, but silence said there was none.
The owner walked through the door that lead from the house to the garage, had an obvious 'wtf?..' look on his face, looked around the car, inside the car and around the street. Hidden in the shadows of the tree across the street, Gambit didn't worry for himself being spotted, either.
Finally the house owner raised his remote control and lowered the garage door.

Shade had stayed where she was, about half a metre from the garage door to the side away from the control panel. In case the owner saw that there were screws missing in the lid she would not be standing in the way. But he didn´t and Shade kept watching him while the man walked into the garage and out again, never moving. One never knew; statistically the chance of him being a mutant was lower than him being none, but there was a slight danger there. After a few moments though, Shade came to the conclusion, that he was no danger for her.
She waited until the man closed the garage door and walked back to the house, mumbling something she could not understand. When the front door was shut again, she spoke again. "I guess we go for the second one then?" she asked. The car owner would be alert now.

Shade walked back to the chair, keeping a wary eye on the front entrance. The house owner had obviously not realised that someone had moved the garden chair, she noticed.
She fixed the two remaining screws and returned to Gambit who was waiting on the other side of the street touching his arm when she reached him. "Could he possibly see us walking down the street?" she asked, wondering whether she should extend her invisibility for their first bit of walking back to the bike.

"Give it a hundred feet or so," Gambit said. "I'll just... walk by myself."

"Okay." Shade said, looking back at the house. The light was switched off in the moment she looked up at it. "Pity." she said, her voice still low, referring to their retreat. "just when I was starting to feel accomplished."

Shade grinned which he of course could not see. "Point taken." she said. "Damn, you´re having a bad influence on me, Thief. I´m actually having fun with this."

Extremely pleased with that remark, Gambit stuck a tongue out at her. "Been sent down here t' corrupt innocent minds an' bodies, cheri," he replied.

"Oh I bet." Shade said with a light chuckle, taking advantage of the fact that Gambit could not see her and caught his tongue with two fingers. "You should be careful with that." she remarked with a smirk.
