"She is?" Gambit chuckled. "Does he even know 'bout it, or did ya simply sound ambigous here?"

"No, he knows." Shade said. "she told me when we met for breakfast in the city some days back. She got me the dictionary, called me weird for wanting one and told me she had asked him to marry her and he´d said yes." She shrugged. "might be interesting to see whether it really happens."

"Yes, it might," Gambit nodded. "Dey plannin' a weddin'?"

"Dunno if they´re planning much yet." she said. As far as she knew Rogue and as much as she had caught of John´s temper the whole thing might even no longer be an issue already. "seems like they just wanted to run off so I told her to insist on a big party and a pretty dress."

From Gambit's perspective, the best way ever to get married was to run off, without any witnesses whatsoever, especially those that could potentially object to anything. "A dress I can understand," he said, "but why de party?"

Shade grinned and shrugged. "Because I wanted to be invited." she said. "never been at a wedding."

Gambit chuckled. He tried to help his hand to restore its ability to measure the exact amount of pressure needed to reach the exact point where the lock would softly click, opening; the hand was deaf to his inward pleas. Not really deaf, perhaps, but mentally challenged and misinterpreting everything he told it.
"So it's about you now?" he wondered.

"Not really." Shade said, pulling her legs closer again to rest her head on her knees, face turned towards him. "but a party would be nice, although I somehow doubt they´ll get this far." She shrugged. "I´ll phone her when you check out your club. We could go, look for dresses, seeing as I need one for the posh dinner."

"Don't underestimate 'em," Gambit smirked. "Dey're not too stable a couple, but dey can compensate it by astonishin' amounts of rather enviable perseverance."
The lock clicked, opening. Pure luck, Gambit knew it. "How much time?" he asked.

Shade smiled. He was probably right. She herself didn´t have a particular liking for Pyro and in Rogue´s stead would likely have gone crazy by now, as she had seen the young mutant in quite a few situations where he had totally lacked any sense of friendliness... or tact for that matter. The way he had treated Rogue back in her dorm had made her really angry. But then again, maybe Pyro was different when they were alone and maybe she shouldn´t judge him too harshly. On the other side there might also be quite a lot of people who would call her insane for being with Gambit, she added with an inward chuckle.
She checked her watch. "2 mins, 45 seconds" she said.

"Okay," Gambit said, "prob'ly twenty minutes for an ordinary poorly informed burglar. Let's do de next one, mark de time."

Shade nodded and had a peek at her watch again which showed seconds as well. She turned a little and crossed her legs, watching what Gambit was doing with some interest.

"Sooo?" Gambit said, hinting at the fact that she'd stopped talking.

Shade only realised then she had not continued to talk, but kept a close eye on what Gambit was doing. She straightened up a little again. "I was just watching." she said with a smile. "and got kind of carried away."

"I'm jus' pickin' my own locks," Gambit shrugged with a small chuckle, "can't be dat interestin' to watch..."
