Betsy just happened to look up at the higher level as the red eyed man leaned over the railing. She'd seen him here before, but had never approached him. She was pretty sure he was the manager or owner or something. She watched him as he watched the crowd, hoping to catch his eye. She would have been very surprised if she didn't, especially in this outfit.

Shade raised an amused eyebrow at the guy before giving him a testing look and raising her hand. She touched his chin and felt the mask, vanishing it so she could see his face.
He was a few years younger than her, she guessed, but not much. Could have been a student, could have been someone residing at the Institute, but she wasn´t certain. Could just be a random guy. She decided to keep it humorous. "Yeah, maybe." she stated.

"For most people, I'm sure," ::Odin replied with a slight nod. He took another sip of his drink and looked around.:: This was the first time Laurie had seen Odin since the day she'd turned her powers on herself and boosted her confidence. In that time, she'd also given an interview to X-Factor. He hadn't mentioned either. "It's nice to see so many people out, having fun. I feel like the community as a whole really needed something like this."

::This was not the place for that conversation, which was why Odin had not mentioned what he knew - the interview - and what he had noticed and theorized about - her new attitude. In a quieter place, there would be time for that. Instead, because this was a party, it was better to focus on less serious matters, and he took the bait about the community as a whole.:: "I agree. Not that my opinions on drinking in moderation are to be trusted completely, but I think everyone could benefit from some relaxation here once in a while. A theme party makes it all the easier to get the community out." ::That was a trait mutants shared with humans. The love of a theme party.::

When they finally made it to the Hellfire Club, the place was already rather crowded, but there were still some parking spaces left around the block.
Lead by Violet into the Club, Alex was staring in all directions, having never been here but having heard about it. "Wow, that's a lot of people," he remarked finally at one point.

Violet was once again very conscious of her body now that they were out of the car. "Yeah, this place is pretty popular because mutants can just be themselves, you know?"

She decided to keep it humorous. "Yeah, maybe." she stated. Lance was disappointed at how quickly his disguise had been lifted. He hadn't expected anyone to use their powers on his costume like that (and, well, it was rather naive of him not to expect anyone to do that, but this was Lance), and so his 'Predator' game quickly slipped away. "So, a Wonderwoman?" he stated, putting one arm on his hip.

She drank from her glass and shook her head slightly at the mystery. "Do you want to dance?" She asked, thinking that the physical proximity might give her some sort of clue.

Shade nodded, somewhat amused that her opposite did not come up with something more witty. "Uh huh," she said, lowering her hand and letting her powers slip from his mask. "I was considering a Fantastic Four themed costume, but that would have been a bit too predictable. Plus, I thought this one might be more intimidating." She was feeling rather playful right now, not sure where that came from all of a sudden. Might have been Gambit´s earlier remarks which he knew he would act on if she played along which she wouldn´t.

While looking over the hall, Gambit noticed a purple-haired girl in a provocative outfit looking up at him. He was pretty sure she was looking at him, her gaze was rather direct. Glancing around the club, he noticed Shade at some distance talking to a guy in a monster outfit. Since Shade looked pretty much occupied and they'd agreed to go separately for a while, he figured he could have some fun in the meantime. Returning his glance to the purple-haired girl, he half-smirked to himself.

Betsy returned his smirk and raised her glass to him, so that he would know that she was, in fact, focused on him.

::Odin almost scoffed at the question, but he realized that she was serious. He remembered, albeit hazily, the last time he had danced; it had been three years ago, and he had been drunk. It had also been as awkward as it always was, because he was terrible at it, in part because he had no sense of rhythm.:: "I'm not much of a dancer, Laurie."

Lance was almost startled when she made his mask visible again, thus returning his head into the darkness under it, then smirked, which was neither visible nor audible. She was talking about intimidating? To him? He placed his other hand on his hip, too. "I tell you what, puny earthling," he continued his tune from earlier in the same growling tone, "I'm not intimidated. I could eat you for breakfast."

Laurie frowned and quickly finished her drink. "Fine, party-pooper," she said with a disappointed sigh. "I'm going to go get another drink," she said, seeming to have already gotten over the tragedy of not dancing. "Do you want anything?"

"A glass of water, please," ::Odin requested, since he still had half his Black Devil; he didn't drink quickly due to his low tolerance.:: "Unless you want to see me fall over from drinking too much too quickly."
