Betsy smiled and nodded. "It was," she agreed, and then walked past him back into the bar. She felt relaxed and composed as she moved through the crowd. It seemed like some people had already begun to leave, because the throng of dancing bodies had thinned out a bit. She saw Lance and made her way over to him. "Having fun?" She asked when she was close enough to be heard. Lance turned to see Betsy. She had a content look on her face. Such a contrast to his own state at the moment! "No!" he threw up his arms. "Everyone has left me! Even my enemies! No one wants to fool around," he crossed his arms and pouted.

"Yup," Kevin replied, dialling her number to let her have his in return. He guessed that she probably hadn't notice his morphing back in the ruined city, from a bird into a human into a large dog and back into the human.

Usually, under any other circumstances, Shade would have asked for a demonstration, but right now, she was still sorting through a lot of confusing thoughts about what had happened and how and why it had been her and him and some others but apparently not many, since the rest of the party seemed unaffected by all of this. She saved his number. "Thanks" she said.

While making his way through the dancing crowd, at the edge of it, Gambit caught a waitress. Pulling her closer to be able to speak over the loud music, he asked, "Chere, ya seen Shade anywhere 'round?" - "As a matter of fact, yes," the girl replied. She pointed. "A few minutes ago, over there, talking to some guy."
Gambit thanked her and headed in that direction. He wondered if it was the same guy or Shade was going through a 'sex magnet' night.
"Ah," he said, stopping near the table at which she was sitting - with Morph. "There you both are."

Shade was just finishing to save Morph´s number when Gambit stepped up to the table. She had not seen him approach but noticed his voice and looked up, something that looked like relief on her face, even though her body language told that it was not her companion she was feeling anxious about. But there was some sort of flicker in her eyes that was only there when she was somewhat on edge about something.
She shifted on the seat at once, making room for him. "Look who´s talking." she said. "I´ve been looking for you, there´s been weird stuff going on."

Betsy shrugged. Lance wasn't her responsibility. "Sorry," she said. "Maybe you should try harder."

"Right," Lance replied in a tone that didn't really convey anything specific. However, he wasn't able to pout for a long time, even if lack of support from Betsy was somewhat disheartening. "Well, don't mind if I do," he continued, "plus I still want to see that fire show."

With yet another eye roll, Betsy replied, "Good luck. I'm heading home, I guess I'll see you whenever you get there." She raised her eyebrows suggestively, implying that some sort of activity might keep him from getting home in a timely fashion.

Kevin looked at both Shade and Gambit, putting two and two together. He seemed a bit lost. "Sorry," he said, getting up and giving a small nod of greeting to Gambit, "I guess I better go," he put his cellphone away.

Gambit wondered what these two could have possibly been discussing. He knew that Morph was X-Factor's editor-in-chief; having the press around was as curious as it was unsettling, especially with Shade.
However, there were a few things he recalled he'd wanted to discuss with Morph, so he raised his hand to halt him. "Wait," he said, "I been meanin' to exchange a few words wit' ya, now is as good as any other time," then he sat down next to Shade on the spot she offered him. "You okay?" he asked.

Shade tossed him a glance, feeling herself relax slightly. Thinking about how this had to look to him she thought he might be wondering what was going on here. With her being that tense and the background about her that only Gambit knew completely, he was probably wary.
"Yeah." she said. "I´m all right." She looked at Morph. "We just met." she then said. "Me and him and some others that already left kind of... I don´t know, zoned out and ended up in some postapocalyptic place. One moment to the next." She was trying to wrap her mind around it and guessed it had to sound really odd to Gambit, but she couldn´t help it right now.

"Don't wait up for me," Lance smirked, "though, on second thoughts, why not."

Betsy shook her head. "I'm going home, and I'm taking a hot bath. If you're home before my head hits the pillow, I'll see you." She tugged on the top of her costume; it was starting to get on her nerves.

The prospect of horning in on Betsy in a hot tub was tempting. Lance considered it for a second, his glance drawn to where her hand was shifting her costume. Then he looked back at her face. "Fine," he said. "If nothing else, I'll come to taunt you in your nightmares, then," he raised the Predator mask that he was still holding in his hand.

As she turned to exit the club, Betsy had one last word of advice for Lance, "You should really consider a different angle with your costume next time, it's not very sexy." She then blew him a kiss and disappeared into the crowd. Soon, she was outside, looking for the hired car that would take her home.
