Betsy watched the dancer, entranced. One of her arms was wrapped around her waist and the other was bent to accommodate the subconscious twirling of a strand of hair. Betsy let her body begin to sway slightly to the rhythm of the music, then she dropped her hands to her sides, took a deep, contented breath, and turned to face him. The fact that she still didn't know his name made this all the more fun. It was mysterious and almost dangerous, and she loved it. She lowered her eyes as she walked toward him slowly. This was not the time for sarcastic quips or fake posturing. He'd taken the dominant role from the beginning, and she was more than willing to allow him to continue it.

Shade was about to remark something along the lines of whether what he had just said about mornings was supposed to sound ambiguous, but then decided that it was too obvious a question to bother with it. Instead, she gave him a look and half a smirk, drinking from her cocktail. "So what kind of funare you guys usually after?" she asked. Lance downed half of his cocktail in one gulp. The vodka in it would probably catch up with him a bit later. "Anything you would suggest?" he asked, allowing one hand to sneak behind the woman's back.

Alex could think of several responses to that, none being too innocent, and he hadn't even drunk anything yet, it was just the excitement from the party and the music. He told himself to get a grip. "Don't worry," he said, taking Violet by the hand to lead her to the dancefloor, "you'll be fine." Violet felt a rush as he took her hand and followed him out to the dance floor. She hoped her trademark clumsiness would not come into play. At least she hadn't really had anything to drink yet; that lowered the possibility. She found it difficult to meet Alex's gaze when they were this close together, so she looked away and tried to relax and just dance.

Shade noticed the move of his hand from the corner of her eye. He either wasn´t overly subtle about it, or maybe it was just her expecting it, she couldn´t tell. Just as much as she couldn´t tell why she was letting it happen. It wasn´t as if she were planning to have this lead anywhere. Seriously, Shade, she thought, are you really going there, doing that little ego thing? What is it you want to prove and to whom? That you´re sexy? Well, big thing, if you ever feel insecure about that, easy thing to remedy.
She nearly rolled her eyes at herself. Oh come on, Shade, he was hanging out with some girl, so what? And even if, so what? She was feeling rather annoyed at herself for not being cooler about this right now. She didn´t feel jealous it was just...she didn´t like the thought that much. And probably that guy with the mask would have to serve as the punching bag for whatever funny moods she might be in right now.
"Aww," she drawled. "did nobody teach you that answering a lady´s question with a counter question is impolite?"

Gambit also enjoyed the anonymity of this accidental rendezvous but he'd probably ask the girl's name later - just because information was a hobby of his and he liked to know many names and to have varied connections.
As she stepped towards him, he took her by the hands and brought them behind her back, thus pulling her closer in a firm hold, and leaned in to capture her lips for the first taste of the night.

The dance was unpretentious, the usual club music and the usual swaying crowd half-visible in flashes of strobe light, and Alex's mind wasn't occupied with the random movements he was making to the beat; rather, he was catching himself gazing and then trying not to gaze at Violet. He told himself that she wouldn't have dressed in such a sexy outfit if she hadn't meant for others to look at her that way, yes his mind was still confused at what boundaries they had and how neutral they were and what he could afford thinking and doing. The only thing that was probably safe to think and clear for him was that they were dancing together and he liked it.

"Aww," she drawled. "did nobody teach you that answering a lady´s question with a counter question is impolite?" Lance turned fully towards her, raising both clawed hands close to her face. What was she thinking about hinting at politeness to a guy whose chosen image was the Predator costume? "What is this polite you're speaking of?" Then he pulled the costume gloves off.

Lance was a kind of guy Shade usually might have thought to be funny. He seemed to have something goofy about him and Shade would be the least person to call anyone weird because of something like that. But right now, even though she was still in a good and somewhat hyper mood from the lights and the music, it didn´t amuse her the way it usually might. It was quite obvious he was flirting with her, making it all the more obvious to herself that was merely looking for a relaxed, fun conversation even though she had possibly given signals that pointed another direction. "We´ll go google it for you later, monster boy," she said with half a smirk.

This was, surprisingly, Betsy's favorite part. Each man or woman she'd encountered touched her and approached her in a unique way. It was always something new, and that's what was so exciting about it. She gave no resistance, tilting her head toward him to accept the kiss. She behaved in a much more ladylike manner than she would have with someone like Lance. It was part of the fun, adapting to each person's style.

"What's wrong?" She asked, her tone still upbeat. She assumed it was either her imagination or something trivial.

"Why would anything be wrong?" Alex asked, a bit surprised, coming fully back to reality from his thoughts.

The look on his face was still strange in a way Violet couldn't quite pinpoint. She reached out and touched his hand, "It just seems like something's wrong," she said, leaning closer to him to be heard on the noisy dance floor.

It was interesting how she seemed quieter and subdued now, compared to her earlier laid-back and flirty behaviour. Gambit noted such shifts but didn't mind them; he adapted to those easily. He kissed her deeper, with the confidence that told her he was in charge now, and pushed her slightly to step back towards the sofa.

Betsy moved easily based on his prompts and stepped toward the sofa, where she broke away from the kiss in order to sit down.
