Shade narrowed her eyes slightly. "Sounds dangerous," she said, before her eyes travelled from him to the bo staff. "You don´t by any chance have two of those here, right?" she asked. She could almost feel her fingers itching. Maybe all the getting a costumes and getting weapons had pushed her excitement a little, but she felt really energized right now. She knew she very likely didn´t stand a chance against him, but still... it could be fun to try.

"What?" Gambit raised his eyebrows and chuckled. "Ya wanna spar? Against me?" he tossed her the bo staff. "Go ahead, give it a try." He was certain that Shade, even with his bo staff against him barehanded, didn't stand a chance.

Shade caught the bo staff, expecting it to be heavier than it actually was. She didn´t attack at once, but tried it first, turned it in her hand testingly in what she was sure looked quite elegant (but probably didn´t), swung it into one direction, then the other, using just one hand, then two, causing a swooshing sound through the air. Then she first vanished the bo staff and then herself.

"Right," Gambit chuckled. Not only could he see Shade taking steps on the dusty ground, but he could also hear the sound of the bo staff swinging. "Let's see whatcha got."

He looked very smug about it and Shade, knowing by now that he could take quite a lot and was not an easy opponent at all, for now saw little scruples to try and test it out. Dancing lightly on her feet, she swung the staff into one direction, mostly to distract him, moving it in a wide movement from before her chest to her right side, stretching her arm before swinging it back in a far lower move, the staff extended more towards him, a swipe aiming to hit his knees.

As the staff hit his knees from the side, Gambit nearly lost the balance in the first moment, but then quickly moved one of his legs over the staff, thus jamming it firmly between his legs. Then he pressed with his other leg, rotating the staff to tear it out of Shade's hand.

The movement came so quickly that the staff was twisted from her hands easily. Shade suppressed a half surprised, half protesting yelp, she staggered a bit, trying to catch the staff, but that was difficult since she couldn´t see it herself and it only appeared when it lost contact with her hand. Leaping to the side, she tried to get a hole of it again.

Gambit spun the staff by his foot, returning it to his hand. "I won't fight ya with it, Shade," he said. "Since you're invisible, I'll probably break a bone or two of yours by random attacks. Wanna try again?" he offered her the staff.

Shade took the staff, letting her powers slip for a moment. "You rather want me to not use my powers for a bit?" she asked. "I would stand less of a chance against you, but you might show me a few things more easily then." She suddenly moved the staff, quickly, but probably slowly by Gambit´s standards, swinging it higher now , aiming against his arm.

"Next minute we're throwin' cards, too?" Gambit quirked a brow. He pulled the staff out of Shade's grip and spun it in his hand, then in a random combination demonstrated a few blocks and hits to Shade's various parts of the body, at all times either stopping just short of hitting her or allowing the staff to lightly touch her, indicating the hit spot. It could look intimidating, giving the understanding of how quickly and easily she could be, basically, beaten to death or at least full surrender.

Shade whinced from reflex, knowing he would not hurt her, but her instincts kicking in nonetheless, prompting her body to try and defend herself. "All right, all right, point taken." she protested. His moves were insanely fast and she couldn´t help but be impressed which probably showed in her eyes as well, below the intimidation and the half smirk. "Okay then, teach me things." She was quite serious about it, despite her casually challenging tone.

"A bit of both", Shade said. "run and hide, definitely, but if someone catches me I want to be able to fight them off instead of just doing some uneffecting struggling."
