::The Professor turned his wheeelchair and then wheeled into the isolated area from which he could control the scenario. The walls faded away to be replaced by Mid-town Manhattan.::

She looked around her as Manhattan formed, and shook her head in surprise. Everything was an exact replica of real life. She poked a nearby pole- it was real, and the metal in it messed with her vision just as metal normally did.

::The Professor spoke through the microphone and the speaker system.:: "Today we are going to work on helping you tune out your new sensory input."

"OK," she agreed, although she felt a little unprepared.

"Try your best; this is an effort-based exercise, not one of succeeding or failing," ::The Professor explained, so that she would not feel too pressured.
With that explanation, the streets of the holographic city filled with cars, and the sidewalks with people. Most were dressed in gray clothing, but one was dressed in bright red, and he was making his way through the sidewalk passed her quickly.
Over the intercom, the Professor said,:: "Keep up with him. Do not lose him."

Lorna saw the man in bright red, feet ahead of her, and she started out in that direction. A few people got in her way, and she moved around them, but the visuals were still messing with her senses as they had ever since she got her powers. Every time people stepped somewhere, the metal they wore messed with things: watches, canes, jewelry, even the metal in their blood, although she could hardly sense that and it wasn't half the problem.

::The Professor remembered vividly how this could be, from when he and Erik were young men together and still training. As trying as it was, it was important for her to be able to do this, otherwise her new senses would ruin her life.
The man in red turned a corner and disappeared into a throng of people, although he was continuing at the same pace, not moving faster. This was a pre-set condition to give her the opportunity to catch up with him.::

The man in red had disappeared into a lot of people, and the visuals were making her lose sight of him. The people annoyed her, so she reached out with her powers and used the metal they had on them to tug them to the side, out of her way. This resulted in a few of them stumbling to the ground, which hadn't been what she wanted.

::The ones who had been moved aside smoothly then stopped to try to help those who had stumbled, causing another slowdown. In response to this, the man in red slowed his pace, giving her the ability to catch up.::

She did try to catch up, but the more people she encountered, the more metal pieces they had on them, and the more her vision skewed with movement. She finally stopped, trying to clear her vision. "I can't see."
