::Odin had noticed her accent, but as this was the land of opportunities, she could have lived here a decade and retained it. At her answer, he nodded slightly.:: "It's a wonderful city."

She nodded in agreement; New York City had been her first stop when she came to America, and it would always hold a special place for her. "It is. But quite a shock at first when coming from California."

::Although a traveler himself, Odin had enough of his hometown in him to harbor a bit of prejudice against the West Coast. To that, he nodded.:: "I'm sure. California is a land of its own."

"Yes, yes, indeed..." She paused a moment, thinking of her time there. The people she met, the cells she had established. But Nadia snapped herself out of her reverie quickly. "You were born here?" She smiled. "I can tell you have a faithfulness to this city."

::Odin shook his head in response to the question.:: "Actually, I was born in Chicago, but I've lived here for about a year and a half."

Her face lit up at the mention of the Windy City, hazel eyes sparkling. She hadn't been there in quite some time, but had loved her short time there. Nadia looked up at her companion. "Chicago, now there's a beautiful city."

::In some ways, Odin had a fondness for the city of his childhood; his entire life prior to adulthood had been spent within those city limits, and he returned every so often. In other ways, he detested the corruption and the poverty, and did not regret having moved away those few years ago. To her comment he gave a slight shrug.:: "It is as long as you stay out of the South and West sides."

Nadia thought about that a moment. She had been to all parts of Chicago, not just the "good" parts. Yes, some were a lot worse than others, but it wasn't all bad. "I suppose so, but in my opinion, even the worst neighborhoods have what you would call... diamonds in the rough?" She glanced over at him with a smile. "There are bright spots everywhere; you just have to find them."

"The Southside's diamond would be Hyde Park," ::Odin said in response to her comment. He had little fondness for his own neighborhood or several of the surrounding ones, but Hyde Park held the University, and his pleasant memories of Chicago all originated there.::

She nodded, thinking back. "Yes, I was there once or twice. It was a nice area." Nadia went quite a moment, again remembering her time in Chicago. Perhaps she would return, once she was done in New York, once the cell was up and running.
Nadia stopped walking; they had come up to the Greek restaurant that he had pointed out to her a few minutes ago. She looked up at him. "Would you join me? Or... are you busy?"

::For Odin "busy" was relative. He had finished his work for the day, and had nothing on his schedule. If he did not accept the invitation, he would only find himself eating alone at his apartment or drinking at the Hellfire. Besides, he had been without conversation with new mutants in far too long. As such, he nodded in assent.:: "I'd be happy to."

She grinned at him. "Great." Nadia was glad that he had accepted; eating with almost a complete stranger beat eating alone any day. Besides, there was something about him that seemed almost familiar. Perhaps it was just his friendly personality.
Nadia led the way into the little restaurant, and the two were seated almost immediately. The place wasn't so very busy, and they had the pick of the tables. She had chosen one near the front by the window. Nadia gazed at the menu for a bit before turning to the man across from her. "What brings you to this part of the city? Work? Forgive me if I'm being too... nosy."

::Odin settled at the table she had chosen, appreciative of the view. Although he was familiar with the menu having eaten here several times, he took a moment to study as well, before making his decision. When she spoke, he lifted his head to meet her eyes.:: "Yes, work. Although I've ended for the day. And you were exploring?"

"Yes, that's about it, really." She smiled. "Just going for a casual stroll while checking out the local restaurants." Nadia paused a moment, glancing down at her menu and making a final decision on her choice before continuing on. "Dinner... and looking for clients."

::Odin's former occupation left him sensitive to the word "clients" and his curiosity often got the better of them. As such, he inquired,:: "And what is it you do?"
