[...from Room 384]
Nadia wasn't sure what street she was on now, nor did she care. All she knew was that she was in the same general area of the Hilton where she was staying. The purpose of her walk was just that: purposeless. All she wanted was some fresh air and to eventually find a place to eat. Just have some fun before the real work came before her in the morning.
A light breeze ran through her light brown hair as her dark sling-backs hit the pavement of the sidewalk. She generally wasn't a fan of pink, but thought that her scoop-necked top did her justice tonight, her skin looking especially radiant, even with sparse makeup covering it.
She smiled to herself, nodding at a few passers-by, feeling especially friendly tonight. A good nap always was refreshing and made one feel ready to conquer just about anything. Nadia paused at an intersection, deciding whether to cross or go right. After a moment's reflection, she decided to just continue right on the cross street, keeping her eyes open for anything that might look appetizing enough to make her stop in for dinner.

::Odin's thoughts were elsewhere - somewhere between the problem of what to do with Lorna, of X-Factor's workload, and the letter he had received recently. He had been out for hours, but had not wanted to return to the apartment just yet. Distracted, he had paid little attention to any of his senses, which was why he managed to almost walk into a young woman. Realizing, he stepped back,:: "My apologies."

Nadia had been contemplating crossing the street in favor of a little Mexican restaurant--a cuisine she had gotten a taste for while spending a few months in California--when suddenly a young man was standing right in right of her. She adjusted her purse a little more tightly under her arm, it was New York City after all, and smiled at him. "It's no bother. I was a little lost in my thoughts, I suppose."

"So was I," ::Odin replied, and perhaps he still was, as it took a moment for his tracking sense to alert him. *Mutant,* his mind told him, and he blinked, before adjusting his glasses with his index finger. He had certainly been distracted.:: "It's common for these streets at night."

She smiled at him again. "Maybe you could help me out a bit?" Nadia kept her hands down at her sides, keeping her stance neutral but still ready for anything. She also knew how the streets of the city got as the dark continued to darken, though she hadn't been in New York for years now. "If you know this area, I mean." She shrugged, "I'm looking for a good place to eat around here."

::As cooking was not among Odin's skills, he was quite familiar with the restaurants in the area. To her question, he responded,:: "I could. What do you feel like eating?"

Nadia turned her gaze away from him a moment, letting the light breeze ruffle strands of her hair. What did she feel like? She had thought about Mexican, but anything ethnic would suit her palate right now, she supposed. Sushi was out of the picture, though. Too much of that in California. And the woman preferred her fish cooked, for all intents and purposes.
She looked back at him. "I was considering going over there," pointing at the little Mexican restaurant across the street. "But now I'm not sure sure. Something ethnic, something a little different."

::Odin turned to look at the Mexican restaurant; it was one he had never tried. But he did know the area fairly well.:: "I can't speak for them, but there's a Greek diner not too far from here that serves a little bit of everything."

Having spent a lot of time in eastern Europe, Nadia knew the Greek cuisine well. She considered her options, quickly deciding to go for the man's advice. Mexican was something she go for later, when she was missing California more. She gave him a grin. "That sounds great. If you could give me the directions...?"
Nadia tilted her head slightly; this man was interesting to talk to, and she hoped he would do more than just point her the way and instead offer to walk with her. She could take care of herself alone on the city streets, but she wouldn't pass up an opportunity for some conversation.

::The diner was a few blocks away; although Odin knew street names well, it was easier to act as a guide.:: "It would be easier for me to show you, if you wouldn't mind the company for the walk?"

Her luck was with her tonight; Nadia smiled at him. "That would be great... I'm sorry, I don't believe I introduced myself." She held out her hand, "Nadia."

::Odin took her hand for a handshake.:: "Odin. It's nice to meet you."

"Likewise." She relinquished her hand and waved ahead of them. "Please, lead the way."

::With that, Odin led her back down the street, in the direction from which she had come.:: "Are you new to Manhattan?"

She flicked her eyes at him before turning forward again to watch her way. "I arrived earlier today." Nadia walked in silence awhile, enjoying the night air before expanding on her answer. "But I have been here before, a few years ago." Now more relaxed, her accent wasn't quite as thick, but still present.
