"I'll move into a guest bedroom for a while, if you want," Raven suggested softly. She knew he needed time to think this through, to conceptualize all of it.

::Had this been years ago, Xavier would have volunteered to sleep in his office, but he needed the accomodations now more than ever, and simply nodded.:: "I would appreciate that."

Raven leaned forward and kissed his cheek. "This doesn't negate fifteen years of being a family, Charles. Please keep that in mind." She stood, preparing to go sit with Abigail in the kitchen, and spend time with her daughter.

::Pietro had come to the kitchen after searching for Wanda; she was out at the moment, which was the only reason he had yet to tell her the discovery. He needed a stiff drink, and knew that Logan kept a bottle of bourbon hidden in the pantry. However, he found himself face-to-face with Abigail, and the shape-shifter entering the kitchen from a different door.::

Mystique was currently standing beside Abigail while she ate her ice cream, massaging her back and telling her that all would be okay. Because in truth, it would be. They would find a way to pry off the metal on her hand later.
Then Pietro entered, and Mystique saw him and instantly stiffened.

::Pietro was no happier to see her, but he was always stiff; it made no difference. He crossed to the pantry to search for his bourbon, and spoke over his shoulders.:: "Cancel the magnetic field."

Abigail looked up at her Uncle, and back down at her hand. A shiver ran down her spine as she concentrated on the piece of metal, trying to *stop* what was holding it to her. After two tries, it came off, falling onto the table with a clink.
"Thank you Uncle," Abigail said, looking over at him gratefully.

::Pietro merely shrugged and stepped into the pantry; he had bourbon to find.::

"Your father and I are very proud of you, and we love you, Abigail," Raven reminded her. "And we'll begin helping you with your powers, okay?"
"Okay, Mom," Abigail said, swallowing a spoonful of ice cream.

::Pietro emerged a minute later with the bottle, already open. He took a deep drink and leaned against the wall, studying her. She had her mother's hair, what he thought had been Uncle's eyes, but they had a similar light to what Wanda once had. Wanda's eyes were dull and angry, as his were now; no spark of innocence. She was not as pale as he or Wanda, but that too could be her mother's influence...::

Mystique got out a bowl and the ice cream, intending to eat some with her daughter. "Your father said he will come join us for ice cream, but he isn't feeling too well right now," She told Abigail, scooping a few balls of ice cream into the bowl. Putting away the box, she sat down next to her daughter, wanting to remain comforting and nearby.

::Despite himself, Pietro scoffed at the shape-shifter's use of "father." He took another swig from the bottle, his eyes on Abigail.::

Hearing Pietro scoff, Mystique turned around to look at him, no hint of amusement in her features.
"Has something happened recently, to make you upset?" She asked Abigail curiously.
"The kids at the mall told me I was a freak because I went to the freak school," Abigail admitted quietly.

::Pietro's expression was hard; he would take no lectures from her, verbal or otherwise, on this topic. He had been right, although he wished this once he had not been. At Abigail's comment, he said,:: "There are no freaks."

"Your Uncle is right," Raven agreed immediately, patting her daughter's back. "Everyone is different, and some people can't understand that, that's all."
Abigail smiled at her Uncle, and then her mother. She felt better, and was done with her ice cream. "I'm going to go work on my homework," She told them. Standing, she gave her mother a hug and put the empty bowl into the sink, before heading upstairs.
