Working at the magazine went rather well but still left Elias enough time and space on his own. When he wasn´t in the office (where he rarely was anyways), he would take some days off to explore the vicinity of the city, but every so often he would come to the Hellfire club when he felt like partying. He wasn´t one to feel uncomfortable in human company, but he had grown to like this place and its interesting clients.
Wearing a jeans jacket (he hardy ever wore anything warmer), he had left his bike outside and strolled inside at an hour where the club started to slowly fill with more visitors for the night.

::Odin spent an increasing amount of time at the Hellfire Club, which on one level should have concerned him, but on another level did not because he rationalized it away as an offshoot of his interest in mutations. He sat at the booth near the back, nursing a rum and coke and reading a book.::

(((I just thought that since this thread has been idle for quite a while , I could place it before the thread where Elias finds Orca, time line wise )))
Knowing his way around the place by know, since he had been here the one or other time even though not on a too regular basis, Elias had a brief look around and soon spotted a familiar face. He smirked. Seeing a guy with a book wasn´t exactly what one typically expected a customor to do here, but it fitted the other man. He ordered two beer and made his way over to where Odin was sitting, and pushed one across the table towards him. "Mind if I sit?" he asked.

((OOC: That is absolutely fine.))
::Odin had sensed the other man enter, or rather, a man with those same powers who he recognized as Golem, and was not surprised to be approached. He memorized his place in his book and set it down, a smirk on his lips.
He noticed the beer; he hadn't had one since Jack's bachelor party as it wasn't his usual drink, but he could go with one for the night.:: "Not at all; the next round's on me."

Elias gave a nod before he settled down, taking a sip from his beer after briefly klinking it against the other man´s glass. He then tilted his head slightly in a half hearted attempt to read the title of the book Odin had just put down. "Don´t tell me you´re still working this hour of the day." he said with a faint chuckle.

"I finished an hour ago," ::Odin said and shook his head at the accusation; his last appointment had ended an hour ago, and he had stopped off at the library to borrow a few books. One advantage to having a permanent residence in the city; he had full access to the New York Public Library. He tilted the book to allow the other man to read the title, "The Black Hole War" by Kip S. Thorne.::

"Same here... minus the black hole." Elias said in reference to having the evening off. He had been around the city during the day doing bits and pieces of research. "How are things going for you these days?" he asked.

::Life had settled for the most part. Odin's life was sedate, after that last riot, where he spent his time split between work, the Hellfire Club, and his apartment. It was tedious, often it was a bit lonely.:: "Somewhat boring. How's life on the beat?"

Elias gave a half hearted shrug. "Nothing particularly thrilling." he admitted. "I thought it was high time to get out again."

"Anything newsworthy?" ::Odin asked, curious. His aspect of the magazine was all business; Golem had the chance to be where the action was. And if *that* wasn't thrilling...::

"There was sort of a small riot some days back." he said, taking another sip from his beer. "some of the kids from Xavier´s school were involved I think, but I´m not sure who started it and what exactly happened. That sort of thing, if anything newsworthy." He kept an eye on what was going on around the city, especially since the mood towards mutants was getting somewhat critical and he as a reporter thought it essential to be in the picture of latest development.

"I remember that," ::Odin remarked; he had found himself caught up in it; he had that talent, it appeared, to find trouble.:: "I hope those stay to a minimum.

Elias nodded. "It wasn´t the first one and it probably won´t be the last. That´s not surprising", he said.

::Odin had matured a great deal these past couple of years; being thrust into a life or death situation had made him question his naiver opinions and had turned him into the man he was. Still young, still responsive to certain appeals to his sense of being, still believing in the necessity of them coalescing as a community, but realizing that it was not as simple a struggle as he had first thought.
The riots would continue, and might grow worse depending on what side of the line started it, and how insane Petrie continued to be. It was...regrettable.:: "Not surprising, but I'd rather not have them. The riot before this one brought Bridge and Petrie into power."

"True." Elias agreed, letting his gaze stray around the club for a moment. "All the more important for us to keep our eyes open and keep people informed about what´s going on."
