::Odin reached for the beer that Elias had brought him and sipped it, while nodding in agreement.:: "My philosophy is that we print until we're shut down."

"And what would keep us from continuing to print if we ever are shut down?" Elias asked, raising an eyebrow why he grabbed for his glass of beer. He wasn´t one to dive headfirst into risks even though he liked a bit of adventure far better than leading an idle, routine life. Other than that, since he had started working for X Factor, he had gotten deeper into the matter coming to the conclusion that what they were doing was an important addition to society - which also included it was something that should not be silenced. And would not if he could avoid it.

::These were thoughts which had preyed upon Odin's mind since the election, and then the inauguration. There were risks, and he was more than willing to undertake them until the government shut them down. Afterward...what could they publish from a prison cell? It was something to consider at a staff meeting, should it become a concern. For now, it remained on the horizon.:: "Prison guards, police..."

Elias gave a small shrug. "As of now, we´ve not come to this point yet." he stated. "this is still a country where the state can not forbid us an opinion, especially if it´s one that means no harm." They would see and have to observe how things developed from here, but he felt little motivation of having himself silenced all too soon.

"As I said, we print until we're shut down," ::Odin replied, and lifted his beer as though to shore up his views.:: "If Bridge keeps Petrie in line, we should be all right. If Petrie takes control...I'd rather not think about it."

Elias gave a short nod, looking down at his beer for a moment. "Do you have any suspitions that we have enemies already?" he asked, wondering if the other man´s words merely rooted in pessimism or were founded on firmer ground.

::Odin took another sip of beer, before setting his glass down.:: "We as mutants, or as X-Factor?"

"The latter." Elias clarified. "the first is too obvious to be mentioned."

"Not on a personal level," ::Odin said, addressing the situation as it applied to their magazine. He had no specifics, of course, but if mutants remained an oppressed group, and their representation and civil rights were stripped away, the free press - the *mutant* free press - would surely suffer.:: "It all stems from the government's position on mutants. We're out here with our motto and our mission statement, and it's risky. That's all."

Elias nodded, scowling slightly at the other man´s word as he looked down onto his beer. Odin was certainly right, even though Elias did not share his - as he would call it - somewhat gloomy outlook on things. Elias had learned to face problems in his life and somehow overcome them, mostly by running from them and letting it look like dealing with things, but he was barely aware of that. "Yeah." he said. "well, let´s hope it won´t come to this then."

::Odin nodded solemnly; for his own sanity, he hoped that this anti-mutant bias would dissipate, but he had to keep an eye out otherwise.:: "I'm hoping. Until then, we keep reporting on it, don't we?"

Elias chuckled slightly. "Of course" he said, silently adding a stubborn ´and probably beyond´. "I´ve not settled down in the first city for years to have someone take away that pretty job from me all too easily."

"I'll drink to that," ::Odin said, and lifted his beer. He had first encountered Golem before the other man had come to work for X-Factor, and had immediately recognized a fellow traveler. They had both come to settle in this city, if not for the same reasons, then with a common goal in mind, and Odin could appreciate the other man's convictions.::

Elias´ grin widened a little as he raised his glass to follow Odin´s example.
When he sat it down again, he had a look around the place that was slowly getting a bit more crowded. "Anything else interesting happened in your life apart from the ordinary?" he asked.

::Odin sipped his beer after Golem had raised his in the toast. To the other man's question, he was thoughtful for a moment, considering recent events.:: "Apart from meeting people?"
