"I test rented some." Shade said. "couldn´t decide yet." She had tried two or three cars just for fun, another luxury she could easily afford now with Gambit´s financial backup. She had gone for speedy cars and made small road trips for two or three Saturdays when the weather had still been nice.

"Ah bon," Gambit nodded. He didn't share what he himself had been doing over the past months; he had never shared much about him and he knew Shade would, at least, accept it as something specifically Gambit, if not feel okay about it.

There were moments when there were a lot of questions going through Shade´s mind. These moments had been frequent ever since they had started dating each other, they had not lessened but Shade was dealing differently with them now than she had done then. Curiosity was there of course but she had developed a good sense for which questions were worth being asked - if one measured their worth on the likeness of receiving an answer. There were questions that would be asked in vain and therefore as well could be shrugged off. In this case it would be an ´Where you been all this time?´ She figured that quite some of the time he had spent getting things back into order, dealing with whoever had been following him (whatever that meant, but her pity for people who were out to kill someone she loved was rather limited) and what went beyond that, he would not tell her just because she asked for it, but only if he himself decided to do so. Gambit was not the sort of persons that could be nagged into giving details. Therefore she didn´t ask that, even though that didn´t mean she didn´t mind. Actually, she did mind. He meant a lot to her after all, it was natural she would be interested in such matters and he probably knew, but she had learned how to handle such things.
Other questions were something different, questions of the sort that bore more chance of an answer. "So I´m staying here tonight. Means there´s not gonna be another housewarming?" she asked and added with a smirk. "cause the last one was so nice and all." They had flooded the whole bathroom mock fighting in the bath tub, she remembered.

Gambit chuckled, also remembering the time Shade was referring to. "Not t'night," he said. "Maybe some other time. That, of course, depending on the fact whether you've ever spent a night at my place here or not," he added.

Shade squeezed one eye shut in thought. "I don´t think I have." she said. She guessed he probably had a room for himself here or something being the owner of the place and all. But so far, she had actually never spent a night at the club, they had just made out in one of the rainbow rooms, never slept there. "unless you prefer your place here to be sorted by colour that is."

"No, I don't," Gambit shook his head. No matter how much he liked the idea of the Rainbow Lounge, he never felt at home in the rooms there. His own room at the Hellfire Club, plain, asketic even, fitted his needs much better, and luxury has never been a need of his. "Got any plans for th' rest of the day?" he asked.

Shade shook her head. "Not really." she said, still sitting on Gambit´s lap with her arms losely around his neck. "When I got your message I was on my way into the city but not for anything more special than maybe a bit of randomness and shopping. You?"

Gambit shook his head. "Nothin' much," he said. "I jus' got here and had a little chat with Tabitha... I think I should take a walk 'round the Club, see how things are going, I haven't been here for a while, ya know..." He looked at the table, then back at Shade. "Want some coffee or something?"

Shade had left her Coke over at the bar earlier. "I got myself a Coke already, so no coffe for me right now. Does this place sell hot chocolate?" she asked scowling slightly as if asking something that was totally unlikely. If he had stuff to do she would just take the time to laze around a little then.

"I´d even join you." Shade said tilting her head to the side slightly. "but I don´t want to keep you from your business of course." The answer implied a lot. One, that she knew and respected if he kept business to himself, two that knowing how much he loved this place he would be eager to have a proper look around after not having been here for a while.

Just what she had been playing at, Shade thought. She wouldn´t tag him along to a teacher staff meeting or something of that sort either. Business. She chuckled at his last remark. "No." she said. "but now you´re giving me ideas to plot about while I´m sipping my chocolate and having a look around, mentioning chains and all."

"Good," Gambit nodded. "I expect a full report on my desk when I return," he said, then moved Shade off his lap and stood up. "I'll have someone get your hot chocolate."
