(( from :: Donnie's Place )) Gambit had spent a few weeks moving from place to place and getting rid of the people who had been following him and who could have any information regarding his identity or whereabouts - mostly by giving them wrong lead-ons. He had had to take care of the real estate agent, too - the man had been his faithful assistant in procuring nameless rent places around the City but had somehow allowed himself to be involved with the whole gang deal and had given Gambit's location away. It was a pity - it was a good real estate agent. Gambit hadn't contacted Shade ever since. He had received his money in return for the loot and was now finally able to say he had regained his ability to move around in the daylight and be a public person around his Club, a place he really loved dearly. His arm was slowly healing after he'd gone to a proper surgeon and replaced the makeshift stitches Shade had made. He had also taken care of Shade's Corvette that had really been damaged in the explosions; there was still hope it could be restored. He parked the bike outside, walked into the Club and dragged his helmet off, taking a look around, then headed to one of the cubicles to just sit down, take in the feel of the place and think what to do next.

Tabitha had arrived at work and immediately started hustling about, after leaving Kevin's. Taking orders and delivering the drinks to their rightful place - in the hands of the patrons. She kept a smile on the whole time and flirted back with every customer that flirted with her. Wanting to making them happy and, of course, order a few more drinks.
She had noticed Gambit's absence, but she didn't ask questions and just kept up with her job, which she loved and had a blast doing. Serving a guy his beer, laughing at his joke, and flirting a bit with him, Tabitha saw someone out of the corner of her eye take a seat in a cubicle. She excused herself from the guy, with feigned apologies.
Walking towards the cubicle she asked in her usual cheerfulness, before getting a good look at the guy. "What can I get you?"

Before Tabitha could realize it was him, Gambit replied, "Just coffee to th' loser who's, unfortunately, drivin' today." Smirking slightly, he reached for the cigarettes, the sleeve of his jacket sliding up slightly and showing the bandages on his arm.

Getting a good look at the guy, Tabitha smirked and placed a hand on her hip. "Well, look what the cat dragged in." She said with a small chuckle and then looked to the bandages on his arm and quirked a brow. "I'll go get that coffee for you."

"Thanks, chere," Gambit smiled. He thought it would be a good idea to make her stay for a moment after she'd bring the coffee, to find out how things were going at the Club.

Tabitha gave a small nod, before she walked off towards the bar to get his coffee. Pouring him a cup and setting it on a tray. She walked back towards the cubicle. "Here." She said, serving Gambit his drink with a smile. "Enjoy."

Gambit had used the minute while she was away to send a phone message to Shade asking her to come to the Club. "Thanks," he smiled when Tabitha brought the coffee to him. "Let's chat if ya got a minute," he suggested, in a non-demanding way.

Tabitha looked around the club real quick, seeing that everyone's drinks would be taken care of by the other workers for a minute or two. "Okay..." She said and took a seat. "What do you want to chat about?"

"Well, let's start wit' you," Gambit suggested, leaning back in his seat in a relaxed manner. "How's life?"

"Busy." Tabitha stated with a small shrug of her shoulders. "Working two jobs keeps me busy, but I love them both so-" She told him with another shrug.

"Never knew ya had two jobs," Gambit said with a grin. "You a workaholic or I'm payin' ya so little?" he wondered.

"I think I'm turning into a workaholic." Tabitha said with a small nod, grinning back. "I babysit for this guy named Kevin during the day."

"You babysit for a guy?" Gambit raised his brows, the name not making any specific connection in his mind. "That's unusual." He sipped his coffee, looking at her over the rim of the cup.

"I babysit his son Mark. He works a lot and his wife passed away, so-" Tabitha said, quietly. "The baby has the most beautiful red eyes. He could almost pass as your kid, only he looks like Kevin."

"Oh," Gambit nodded. So apparently the baby and probably even his father were mutants, he assumed. Not that it mattered, but it was an interesting fact to keep in the back of his head. "Dieu, that's gotta be lots of work..." he commented. "You're managin'?"
