The bartender got the Coke ready in a matter of seconds and Shade had a sip of it, having another look around. Gambit was probably around the club somewhere she thought and be over in a mo so she let her gaze stray again - and spotted him sitting at one of the cubicles, talking to someone. He had his attention turned to his oposit and wasn´t looking her way which probably explained why he hadn´t noticed her yet, but Shade decided that he probably wouldn´t mind her walking over for had it been some super secret thieving business or whatever, he would probably not discuss that in the middle of the club.
She hopped off the bar stool, leaving the Coke where it was and walked over to the table he was sitting at - with a blonde girl she didn´t know. A very small part of her wondered who she was but she didn´t pay that part attention as she walked up to him. "Am I interrupting something?" she asked in a way that not reproachful or jealous, just a question. There was a faint pout somewhere in the back of her mind that didn´t show in her words and that resulted from his long absence but her expression spoke far more of a positive mood.

Gambit turned at the sound of Shade's voice, seeing her standing right near. He smiled. "Not at all, chere," he said. "Shade, this is Tabitha; Tabitha, Shade," he introduced them to each other, knowing it could be awkward if the three of them kept talking and the girls didn't know each other's names.

Tabitha looked up to the girl who spoke and as they were introduced to each other, she smiled. "Hi," she said with a small wave, still in her cheerful mood.

"Hey," Shade gave back with the same friendly tone to her voice that she had for everyone she was introduced to, silently wondering whether the other girl was working here or a random patron Gambit knew.
She squeezed herself onto the bench next to Gambit, deliberately chosing the side with the arm that had not been injured, small, unconscious signs of her body language showing she was not just a random friend to him. Had they been alone, she would have asked if he had sorted things out again (which was almost obvious, because he was here) or something of the like, but there were some major principles she had and that was not giving away information about others. Unless Tabitha belonged to the small inner circle of people he really trusted, she wouldn´t know why he had been away and Shade would definitely not give hints about things like what had led to his absense. That could wait or later. "How are things?" she asked, clearly more him than her, but finding it rude to not include the girl in a conversation and thus keeping things light.

"Things are fine," Gambit shrugged with a smile. He made no affectionate gesture towards her because he preferred to keep his relationship with Shade more out of the view of the Club's staff, even though most people here knew (or suspected) about it - but he did put his arm on the back of the seat behind Shade. "Ya sho made it fast here. Pietro gave you a ride?" he winked.

Tabitha looked between Gambit and Shade, noticing the little things that they did. She then gave a look out towards the people in the club, contemplating whether or not she should get back to work or not. It seemed that one of the patrons she usually tended to was almost out of beer. "Um, I'll be back in a minute," she said and then slid out from where she sat and went to go see if he wanted another beer.

"He´d probably rather chop off both hands than give me a ride." Shade said with a small chuckle. Her and Pietro had never gotten along too well, even though it was more of a partly wary truce between them not, different from the open hostility that had been there in the course of their fist encounter. "Nah. I was on my way to the city when I got your message so that was just some lucky coincidence."
She gave Tabitha a glance when the other girl got up and followed her with her eyes for a moment. When she saw her walk over to the bar to get some drinks, she figured she was probably one of the waitresses here, and that she could not have been working here for too long, since she had not seen her there before. Deciding not to bother with small talk about some girl, she returned her attention to Gambit. "I hope some doctor managed to piece your arm together again after that messy stitch job I did." she said crooking a lopsided smile. Now that Tabitha wasn´t in ear shot, it was okay to ask, after all.

Gambit gave a wink at Tabitha as the girl left the table, then turned his attention fully to Shade. "Oui," he said. "It's healin' pretty fast. How 'ave you been?"

That was good to know Shade thought. She knew Gambit could handle quite a bit, she of all people could claim to have seen for herself after all, but still that had looked as if it had really hurt and his behaviour had told her the rest about it.
She gave a small shrug. "Pretty much okay." she said. "nothing too exciting going on back at school though." Quite a few times she had felt a little bored and like just going for a joyride but alas, where to get a car if not steal one? She didn´t say that out loud, it didn´t matter considering the circumstances back then. "the place can be a bit boring now and then."

"Oh, I can bet," Gambit smirked. "But what have you been doin'? Can't imagine ya lazyin' around, so..?" He didn't want to start squeezing information out of Shade, as she usually was a talkative person, but for some reason that he couldn't understand she was holding back now. He hoped there wasn't anything she was trying to conceal.

Shade shifted on the bench a little so she was facing him more properly, one leg bent, her head propped on a hand, her elbow on the back on the bench. "Let me see," she said, "apart from the usual teaching stuff I hung out with Rogue a bit, did some trips to the city and, oh yeah, I went home for a weekend which was a bit awkward."

"Why was it?" Gambit asked. "Anyone demanded ya t' bring your boyfriend over?"

Shade smiled faintly at that, scrunching her nose up a little. "No." she said. "just not the easiest time in the year to visit the lot." She had not paid close attention to the calender when she had gone there even though probably her subconsiousness had. As well as had her parents. In comparison to the year before that had been less of a problem for Shade, no nightmares and the like, but still, the mood had been somewhat forced.

"Ah," Gambit nodded. "But other than that, it's all goin' okay?"

"Pretty much, yeah." Shade replied. There had been nothing much going on to trouble her - with the exception of Shona leaving in anger that was, but she didn´t want to dwell on that for now. "apart from me having to shag half the mansion to compensate for thief deprivation that is." she added, feigning a perfectly straight face as if she was talking about the weather, unable to hide the joking tone that, even though not obvious in her voice, would be obvious in her emotions and eyes. She didn´t know if things about letting whoever had followed him lose trail had been easy, but by the looks of it it had taken time to get it all settled and sorted out and so she saw no real reason for reproach. However, she had missed him of course and she had never had a problem with admitting that after all.
