"With that sentiment, I agree," ::The Professor said with a soft smile. He heavily advocated seeing as much of both the country and the world. His parents had made certain that he traveled as a child, and it had instilled within him a respect for other cultures, and a habit he had continued up until it had ceased to be feasible.:: "Might I suggest Maine, if you like beaches?"

Shade tipped a fingeragainst her head. "Noted." she said. "I´ve mostly been to Conneticut so far." It felt good, she noted, to talk about something totally small talk for now. It took her focus away from the unfriendly start of day.

"Maine is further up North than Connecticut and is far more...peaceful," ::The Professor described. Connecticut was partially composed of cities, and partially composed of areas similar to Westchester, and was not his first choice for a vacation, nor was it an ideal representation of New England.::

"Peaceful how far?" Shade asked. If he meant less people, far more countryside that sounded nice but she usually preferred areas where there was at least some life relatively closely nearby. She had never been a true city kid, but too little buzzling wasn´t ideal either.

::The Professor's expression became one of reflection for a moment, while he thought of how best to communicate it. Maine had its small towns, but also larger areas, tourists, and people going back and forth. But the people were from all walks of life, and there was an underlying courtesy at the beaches.:: "The area is the best representation of the nature inherent in the North East."

"Hm..." Shade said. "sounds nice. I´ve grown to usually prefer people around, not buzzing, but not too deserted either, but if there are forests around as I´ve heard, it sounds promising enough a hangout place when I´m in the mood for it. Has to be my inner tomboy speaking there."

"Inland Maine has a number of hiking trails, and the population is large enough that you wouldn't feel isolated," ::The Professor told her. It almost sounded as though he were selling property there, he realized, but it was merely a vacation tip from a man who had been there several times.::

"I´d prefer horseback hiking I guess." Shade said. She had never been much of a hiker, but liked something a little more active, a healthy mix of a little thrill (which no doubt had become a stronger urge ever since the bike accident) and some hanging around. "Or rock climbinh, something of the sort. Did that ages back with some college friends but that was near Ashville."

"Would you believe that I used to enjoy rock-climbing as well?" ::The Professor replied at the thought. Of course, it had been well over a decade since he had been able to indulge himself; the last time had been years before the accident.::

His words told Shade something she hadn´t known so far, because she had never asked - and never would: she had never actually wondered why Xavier was sitting in that wheelchair but what he had just said let her assume that the reason for it was no paralysis from birth. An accident maybe, she wondered briefly.
"I guess I´d believe about anything." she said smiling. "or rather, think about everything is possible; with the world being as it is. But I didn´t know that."

::Xavier and Shade had never explicitly discussed his handicap; few students or faculty did, apart from those of his X-Men who had been there at the time. It was a simple fact, but not one which often came about in discussion. Certainly he did not go out of his way to discuss it, but he also never shied away from such questions.:: "When I was young, and that was quite some time ago, it was a hobby of mine."

Shade chuckled lightly at the first part of his statement. She had no idea how old Xavier was, especially since with mutants one never knew for sure whether guesses were not misleading, but she guessed he had to be around Magneto´s age and judging Magneto had been in the camps - yes, she thought, that qualified for ´a long time ago´ for someone as young as her probably. "Where did you go for climbing?" she asked.

::That was some time ago, and the Professor needed to remember, between America and Scotland, his favorite climbing spots, and those which might still exist. The areas on Muir Island were still there, but were no longer accessible. Much of the wilderness of his childhood had been industrialized. Yet one area remained constant.:: "The Adirondacks were a favorite place."

Trying to recall where that was, Shade scowled slightly in thought. "That´s not far from here, isn´t it?" she asked. It was something rather trivial to talk about but her mind welcomed that little random chit chat with somene that could be trusted just because it felt as relaxing for her mind as beating up the punching bag had felt for her body after the day´s earlier events.

"It is a couple of hours north of here," ::The Professor confirmed with a nod. The drive was an easy one, as traffic went primarily in the opposite direction.:: "Clean air and cabins for rent. As well as an entire industry built around vacations."
