"Yeah." Shade said, browsing a hand through her hair. Funny, she thought, how the day had turned, starting with running for your life, continuing to stitch your boyfriend´s arm and continuing to discuss Halloween decoration. Life could truly be bizarre at times.
"So how have you been over the summer?" she asked, cutting those thoughts short.

But it had been a far calmer summer than the previous one, yet he knew they were not completely out of danger.:: "I enjoyed it: relaxation, helping students, arranging a camping trip and a trip to a waterpark. Shade smiled at the enumeration.
"Pretty nice too. Lots of relaxing, some beaches and I was in Atlantic City."
It was funny how Shade had acquired her own little mental reflexes when talking to the Professor. She knew he didn´t pry but there were some things her brain seemed to automatically move away from her frontmost thoughts when mentioning some things. Maybe because she was no way immune against telepaths or empaths even, more likely because there were some things she knew he would find disappointing to say the least and not all of what her and Gambit had been up to in the casino counted under legal, so right now that thought was remote to her, pushed back instinctively.

Actually, Shade thought, they had not seen too much of it, but what they had seen had looked pretty cool. "It was interesting." she said. "totally different city from New York."

"That is the goal of their tourism bureau," ::The Professor did not frequent Atlantic City, partially due to his obligations at the Institute, and partially because of the fact that gambling was a vice which he tried to discourage, and was hardly fair with his advantage.::

Shade chuckled at that, not sure if she was indeed hearing the hidden sarcasm or pun in his words she was interpreting into them but thinking there was one nonetheless. "Oh, no doubt." she said. "Well, it´s a cool place."

For a moment, Shade meant to say: ´I don´t have to´ but that would have been in referring to a rather successful evening where the success had been acquired with not too fair means, so of course she didn´t utter it aloud. "Maye, but not too soon I guess." she replied. "there are so many places I still want to see it sounds more intelligent to see more first before starting the repeat."
