Rally for Rights

"Well, maybe he needs to be taught a lesson," Logan responded back to Ty with a slow smirk. He saw a flash of light out of the corner of his eye and his brow furrowed immediately. "Or maybe we should spread out. Looks like more than one ass needs kickin'. Paige, feelin' up to showing off your skills?"

[Everyone Else]

::The press reacted as one might expect to property damage, and to loss of livelihood. They grew frightened first, but found themselves unscathed. Their equipment, however, was less fortunate, and they grew upset. Those in charge went scrambling back to their vans for more equipment, while others tried to get closer to the source, and others backed away.

The power use set off a number of other mutants. A gust of wind was let out from the middle of the crowd, which sent the rain sideways. A fire hydrant burst near the back, caused water to spray everywhere.::

[Husk]

Paige looked over at Logan with a smile, though she wasn't exactly sure what he wanted her to do. "Sure, what is it you want me to do?" She asked. Looking over towards the camera crew she was surprised to see a lot of equipment broken and then noticed the person who caused it.

[Morph]

It seemed that, while there was panic and chaos in the center of the rally, as Morph and Golem got out from the central crowd, more and more curious onlookers gathered to see what was up - efficiently making the crowd even worse and making it hard for anybody to get out.

"Do these people have no survival instinct at all?.." Morph kept muttering, making his way between people.

[Typhoid]

"Maybe he does," Ty replied. "I've got earthquake boy, if you can handle the others."

[Avalanche]

Avalanche wasn't the best strategist out there, but the little experience he got had taught him to change his position from time to time, as waves of vibrations tended to indicate their source eventually.

Stopping the tremors for a moment, he moved to find another spot to work from.

[Odin]

::Odin saw the burst of light, and grimaced to himself, a small expression which demonstrated his disdain. He knew who'd done it, and he went off in her direction. She'd had to get involved, which would only anger her friend, and already this had gone too far. He felt it as every power display occurred, the wind, the water, and if his mind weren't equip to handle the information subconsciously, he might otherwise be in pain from over-stimulation.

As he went off to try to do what he could, he wished his mentor were here. Or Stacy, as her abilities would help to calm everyone. They had to keep everyone together, or they would dearly pay the next four years.

He could run; nobody could take that from him. It wasn't Olympic-style or speed, but he knew how to evade injury to his person, unless inviting it intentionally. He weaved through the crowds, and passed by Paige and Typhoid, with the Wolverine, the first two were easily recognizable to him.:: "The camera's are out, but that's meaningless. Leave the light-bender to me."

Squinting slightly against the glow of Astral's light, John then turned towards the crowd of religious people. Despite the rain, and broken fire hydrant, adding to the moisture of the place, John was confident, and had used his powers enough, that the flames wouldn't completely extinguish against the rain, just as long as they didn't get a full blast of water.

Concentrating on the flames that were in the trees, he caused them to grow, before sending another flame into the air. This one, he caused to encircle the majority of the religious protesters. However, John made sure none of the flames actually made contact with the skin or clothes of the people, and instead the fire then shot up into the sky, smaller flames raining down.

[Typhoid]

Typhoid saw Odin pass by her, nodded at his words, then took off after the earth manipulator, tracking his heartbeat clearly through the crowd.

[Golem]

"Easy to keep survival instincts in check if there is enough for people to gawk." Elias gave back, shoving his way past a group of curious onlookers, none of them obviously a mutant. All he could do was shake his head at them, hoping there wouldn´t be anything more serious happening.

Maya just stood there, as if all this commotion wasn't happening. Everyone was yelling and one guy was practically screaming in her ear. She took a deep breath and then raised up her arm and elbowed the guy in the face, quickly stepping away before anyone would notice what she did. At least she didn't kill him and that was something.

She had gotten out of the religious crowd before John had encircled them with a flame. She stood a bit out of bounds and went to stand on a nearby bench to get a better look at things and her teammates. She had told Michael she would try to keep safe and well, she was at the moment.

[wolverine]

Logan gave Odin a doubtful once over. "That'll take you right over to John, he'll put you out like nothin'," he said, not sounding convinced. He nodded at Ty, then looking to Paige. "She's fire resistant, in the right skin."

[Odin]

"I know that," ::Odin said patiently. He knew precisely what Paige could do. He could also become fire-resistant, although he didn't like what it would take.:: "Paige, come with me, then. Bind his hands, what have you, but I have to get that girl out of there."

[Husk]

Paige's brows furrowed when Odin said he could handle it, it would be dangerous considering John was there. At Logan's words she nodded, "I'll do it." She told him before looking to Ty and Odin. At Odin's words however her brows furrowed, "I don't think it's safe for you to go over there." She told him with concern.

[astral]

Astral looked almost a little shocked at herself, staring as the camera crew began scattering to get new equipment. She frowned, putting her hands on her hips. Why couldn't they get the message? As soon as they began trying to set up new reels and cameras, she burnt out their films again with a second flash of white light.
