Gambit saw Shade's footprints pressed into the grass as she ran, their appearance accentuated by the muffled sound of her steps. He snickered and, reaching the water edge and quickly getting his jeans and boxers off, tossed them on the ground and ran into the water.

Shade laughed out loud when she saw him run. Reaching the shore she stopped and quickly undressed. "You look like you´re running for your life, Thief!" she called over to him chuckling while she stepped out of her panties and went towards the water.

"Yep," Gambit replied, "dat's what thieves do." The lake bottom quickly descended to a good depth, and he dove for a few seconds, then reappeared again, tossing his hair back.

Shade grinned at him, then concentrated to walk into the water as it was rather cold. She bit her bottom lip and decided it would be easier to just run in. She did, suppressing a yell when diving into the rather cool floods.

Gambit looked at his hands, noticing blotches of paint that were rather runny now. He washed them off in water and ran them through his hair to see if there was any left. The remains of dragon were slowly running off his chest into water.

It felt good to be in the water and get the sticky paint off. Shade had none left, still her skin felt all sticky and she spent a few moments washing off the paint, diving under the surface to get her hair clean. When she had done so, she turned invisible and dove into the water again, swimming towards Gambit.

Invisible Shade under water. Gambit sighed and stooped to his fate.

Shade had her eyes narrowed, trying to avoid opening them fully, but keeping them open to an extent that she could still see where Gambit was. Diving towards him, she rounded him and approached him from behind, leaping out of the water to reach for his shoulders attempting to pull him down.

Gambit barely had enough time to hold his breath as he found himself pushed down into water.

Shade didn´t keep her grip on his shoulders as she didn´t know whether he had seen her approach at all and therefore whether he had time to take a breath. His reflexes were quick, but still. She let go of him and swiftly half-circled him, appearing again when she was oposit Gambit, waiting for him to get back to the surface.

Gambit swam out, once again using his move through water to wash the rest of the paint off. It didn't help much that the remains of the green dragon tinted the water around him.

Shade smiled at the sight of the greenish trace Gambit left in the water, raised her arms and let herself fall backwards onto the water, treading water with her feet for a moment, her eyes closed, drifting on her back.

The sight of naked Shade drifting in the lake with nothing but a pearl necklace on her was one of the best things Gambit had seen in the past few years of his life. Speechless, he froze in water, doing nothing but staring at her.

Shade kept drifting in the water for a moment, feeling lazy, just now and then moving her arms slowly, running her fingers through the water. It was not really a hot day, but she didn´t freeze. After a while, she opened her eyes and blinked at the sun, catching from the corners of her eyes that Gambit wasn´t moving, but just looking at her. "What?" she asked with a smile.

Gambit smiled a bit, though he didn't handle that smile too well. At the moment, he was too overwhelmed about her to handle his own reactions. "You're beautiful, Shade," he said. "And I desperately need a dictionary again."
