"I suppose so would my boss, knowing what kind of guuuy I hang out with" Shade said, stiffling a grin and drawling the word ´guy´ tossing him a glance. Before they had left to Louisiana, they had made sure that her car, a corvette apparently, was parked snug and safe at the institute. She was starting to wonder whether this car had been bougt or whether maybe he had stolen it. "Even though he seems to be a rather tolerant guy."

"He is," Gambit laughed. "Trust me, he done seen it all, he's hard to scare."

"No kidding," Shade chuckled. She didn´t know what she had expected when meeting the guy a few days ago - probably not such a calm reaction towards finding out that one of his teachers was wanted for murder. Speaking of which. "I´d like to drop by school somewhen these days," she said.

Gambit thought about it. He had allowed her to walk around without hiding and in broad daylight, for the reason that there had never been any specific lead on Shade for the police; this probably meant that the Institute was also more or less safe. Unless, of course, there were telepaths among students who'd become aware of Shade's situation. "I think you can. If you're ready for a chance dat some of the students might be telepaths or whatever," he said cautiously.

It was a reasonable thing to consider, Shade thought. "Good point." she said after a moment. "But then again, everybody walking past me down the street might be one." She gave him another glance. "I´d just...like to go through my stuff there and talk to Xavier. I think we need a reason why I´m not teaching these days. Dunno, have him tell the kids it´s personal reasons or something. I think showing my face there would possibly decrease suspition, instead of increasing it."

"Okay," Gambit said. He thought. "Ya know, I'm basically beyond de point of stoppin' ya from doin' so, besides de Institute is rather safe, I just thought I'd put my two cents in."

Shade reached over, brushing her hand throgh his hair briefly. "I know." she said. "I appreciate that, really. You´ll have to be my memory as long as I don´t have mine." She felt naked without it. Or in her case...naked apart from...maybe a thong.

"If I were you, I'd so choose a different memory stick," Gambit grinned.

Shade shifted on her seat, leaning more towards the door and looking him over in a half sceptical, half testing look. "Nah," she said a bit proud of actually being able to not burst into laughter but keeping a straight face, "the stick was quite useful so far, I think I´ll stick to it."

Gambit glanced at her and then returned his attention to the road. "C'est fantastique," he said, unable to resist the pun.

Shade raised her eyebrow. "Well," she said. "Can´t wait to get to that scrapyard to see you use that staff of yours in action." Oh cut it Shade, she chuckled at herself. But she didn´t want to.

Gambit raised an eyebrow at that. "I think I'll give it to ya to try for yourself," he said nonchalantly, keeping up with the ambiguity.

"It's unbreakable," Gambit remarked. "Made of adamantium."

Her attempt to bite down laughter didn´t work this time so it resulted in a funny sounding half grunt when Shade tried to half-dignifiedly keep herself from chuckling which she tried to cover by pretending to casually lean her face against her hand.
