((yes I know I posted it in the wrong place the first time))
Rogue walked into the club with a smile far brighter than how she felt. She just needed to be out of the school which was part of the reason why she was early for her evening shift at the club instead of her usual running-twenty-minutes-late.

Remy was sitting at the bar playing with a deck of cards. There were few patrons now, and most of them were handled by other barmen, but he knew that it would be a matter of minutes at the end of the working day when the club would fill up with people.
Noticing a movement, he glanced up and saw Rogue. "Evenin' chere," he said.

'Hey,' Rogue said, sliding behind the bar and pulling her hair up into a loose ponytail, 'how ya doin' sugah?'
Posted by Gambit on May 1, 2007, 20:04
"Tres bien," Remy replied, putting his cards aside. "How's yaself?"
Posted by Rogue on May 1, 2007, 20:07
Rogue shrugged, leaning on the bar with a small smile.
'Been a bit up and down but I'm okay.'
Posted by Gambit on May 1, 2007, 20:12
"Okay as in zero-neutral?" Remy asked.
Posted by Rogue on May 1, 2007, 20:13
Rogue nodded.
'Yup. Neither up nor down.'
Posted by Gambit on May 1, 2007, 20:15
"Some soda t' cheer ya up?" Remy suggested.
Posted by Rogue on May 1, 2007, 20:16
'Why not?' Rogue said with a grin, 'how how's things been round here,' Rogue asked, motioning across the club with a hand.
Posted by Gambit on May 1, 2007, 20:28
"Gambit jus' returned a few days ago," Remy shrugged. "But feels like it's a different place now."
Posted by Rogue on May 1, 2007, 20:29
'Really? Feels the same to me,' Rogue said with a shrug, 'but I guess you know it better than I do.'
Posted by Gambit on May 1, 2007, 20:33
"Different as in fewer Xavier kids, more weird visitors," Gambit explained. "I b'lieve it was your shift when the White Queen came?"
Posted by Rogue on May 1, 2007, 20:37
Rogue rolled her eyes. She could hardly forget Emma Frost arriving in her little white number.
'Yeah it was, and I must say I've never met anyone like her before.'
Posted by Gambit on May 1, 2007, 20:41
"Yeah," Remy agreed. "She was somethin'." He took out a cigarette and lit it with his powers. "She's one from de original Hellfire Club, ya know dat?"
Posted by Rogue on May 1, 2007, 20:43
'You mean she used to work here?' Rogue asked, raising an eybrow. She could hardly see Emma working in a bar, and she didn't know Hellfire as anything else.
Posted by Gambit on May 1, 2007, 20:49
"Ya could say so. It was a secret society for powerful an' wealthy mutants who were tryin' to make de world go 'round. An' she held de reins."
Remy felt no scruples at sharing that piece of info with Rogue. Instead, he thought she might just as well be informed and thus better prepared for Emma's probable future visits; especially considering that the low profile of the previous Hellfire Club was now relict.

Rogue gave a low whistle.
'So what happened? She doesn't seem like the sort of woman to just let things break down without a fight.'
Posted by Gambit on May 1, 2007, 21:02
"Nobody knows," Gambit said. "When I found dis place, it was already empty. Apparently, she wasn't present when whatever happened, so she was clueless herself. An' blamed Gambit for all sins."
Posted by Rogue on May 1, 2007, 21:03
'Oh ick,' Rogue said, crinkiling her nose up, 'bet she wasn't all too friendly then?'
Posted by Gambit on May 1, 2007, 21:07
"Felt like she nearly scratched my eyes out wit' her spikes," Remy said. "But hot chicks are always fun, no matter what," he winked at Rogue.
Posted by Rogue on May 1, 2007, 21:08
Rogue gave Gambit a small punch in the arm.
'No comments like that while you're dating my Shadey.'
Posted by Gambit on May 1, 2007, 21:13
"Oh dieu..." Remy rolled his eyes. "Damocles' sword of monogamy."
Posted by Rogue on May 1, 2007, 21:14
'Who with a what now?' Rogue asked, raising an eyebrow.
Posted by Gambit on May 1, 2007, 21:16
"You wit' ya chaperone instinct," Remy explained.
Posted by Rogue on May 1, 2007, 21:17
'I just like to look out for my friends,' Rogue said in a soppy voice.
Posted by Gambit on May 1, 2007, 21:21
"Commendable," Remy agreed, "as long as ya don't try to affect my freedom of expression doin' so."
Posted by Rogue on May 1, 2007, 21:22
Rogue rolled her eyes, 'I'll try not to.'
Posted by Gambit on May 1, 2007, 21:23
"Bon," Gambit laughed. "Speakin' of yer friends... An NYPD detective came by askin' about ya."
Posted by Rogue on May 1, 2007, 21:24
'Should I be flatered or worried,' Rogue asked. The only thing she could think of that involved the police was not the sort of thing they followed up. And she'd slap them if they did.
Posted by Gambit on May 1, 2007, 21:37
"Depend on your love for notoriety," Remy said. "He was askin' if Gambit know any of de club staff recruitin' for Brotherhood here. Of all my staff, dat would be Rogue, I guess."
