Typhoid walked in, brushing snow from her shoulders, and looked around. At least it was halfway empty. She walked in further, running gloved fingers over the bar. But the club or drinking wasn't what interested her. "Gambit?" Her Italian accent was thickened, she'd come here by way of New York's Little Italy.

"Right here," Remy responded, walking up behind her. He had no intention to scare her, just so happened that he approached the bar from the other direction.
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 9, 2007, 19:48
She practically leaped out of her skin. "Jesus, Remy...."
Posted by Gambit on Apr 9, 2007, 19:52
He raised his hands to show that he didn't mean it. "Sorry chere," he said, "didn't mean to scare."
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 9, 2007, 19:59
She rolled her eyes, more at herself then him. " 'sok. I was looking for you anyways." She shuffled her feet on the carpet. "I'm sorry about coming here the other day when I was so messed up. Things got...complicated." It was a lame excuse to come, but she couldn't think of any other reason. Rubbing her hands up and down her arms, she still tried to shake the feeling she knew him from somewhere...and the fact that she might scared the sh*t out of her.
Posted by Gambit on Apr 9, 2007, 20:19
"Complicated is a mutant's middle name," Remy said. "Ya know it as well as I do, chere. Jus' forget about it."
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 9, 2007, 20:27
She shrugged. "Still..." Pausing for a minute, she stared at him, very very closely. "I'm not trying to be rude here but you look really familiar, and not because I've seen you twice before."
Posted by Gambit on Apr 9, 2007, 21:20
Remy laughed. "I'm actually not surprised. Hell, I even got people tellin' me I look like Wolverine."
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 9, 2007, 22:08
Typhoid made a face. "God, no." She stared at him harder, filtering through flashes of memory she'd never had. "Your father was Jean Luc Lebeau...they used to call you "le diable blanc..." She pronounced the French with difficultly, tripping over her own accent. Catching herself, she muttered with a bit of humor. "Feel free to interrupt me if this starts to get creepy..."
Posted by Gambit on Apr 9, 2007, 22:16
"So far, it doesn't," Remy shrugged. "Dey still call me dat, an' you be tellin' facts anybody can find out in no time. But I'm all ears to what follows."
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 9, 2007, 22:17
"Then who was Mary?" Typhoid cut to the chase, narrowing her eyes. She didn't like all this sh*t in her head, one bit.
Posted by Gambit on Apr 9, 2007, 22:30
"Which one?" Gambit remained nonchalant. He wondered if he was even able to remember all the marys in his life.
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 9, 2007, 22:55
This was frustrating, more so then before. She couldn’t remember how she knew what she did, or why, or know how to get across what she meant in some way that would make sense. The things she remembered were chancy, flashes, things that had been said or done or mentioned, places she didn’t know the name of, people she couldn’t remember or hadn’t known in the first place, or both. It was like trying to find one individual page in a book where all the page numbers were out of order…and it pissed her off. She grabbed at a name, an event, hoping it would work. “The one who helped you when Marrow hurt you.”
((OOC I'm sort of working the bio you posted into an amalgam of our decided history and canon, my apologies if I just threw you off))
Posted by Gambit on Apr 9, 2007, 23:27
Gambit had to think for a moment. It was difficult to give a straight answer to that. To put it simply, he had not so many ideas as to who or what that Mary actually was.
"I can try an' get you somethin' of an answer," he said, "but tell me first, is it mere curiosity, or you really got an issue to solve 'bout her?"
(( OOC: It's fine, I think I can adjust. Marrow was actually a little girl when Gambit rescued her, but she could well have hurt Gambit with her bones as he did so, so I guess it fits nonetheless. ))
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 11, 2007, 23:18
"I...don't know." Now she just felt stupid. "I had something in my head, and now she's gone...and I remember some of what she did. I just want to know why she decided to f*uck up MY life."
Posted by Gambit on Apr 11, 2007, 23:25
Remy sighed.
"In dat case, it's a long story," he said. "Not here."
He turned around and went towards the stairs that lead to the second floor. He knew that she'd follow him if the matter was important enough for her.
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 13, 2007, 5:27
She cast a look around the room and reluctantly followed. She didn't know this person, and didn't trust him any farther then she could throw him...but there was nothing to do about that.
Posted by Gambit on Apr 13, 2007, 14:21
Gambit lead her to one of the rooms upstairs. It wasn't a VIP room, just a place he chose for himself to sleep over at the club when he needed to.
"S'il vous plait," he invited her, opening the door to let her in.
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 13, 2007, 23:08
She nodded and went in, taking a look around but saying nothing.
Posted by Gambit on Apr 13, 2007, 23:12
Remy closed the door behind them.
"Have a seat somewhere," he said, walking across the small room and sitting down on a chair near the table.
(( Uh, I guess there's also a bed and a sofa... or whatever you like ))
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 13, 2007, 23:15
((Gotcha.))
She glanced around and took a seat on the corner of a well-used sofa, far enough away to at least be halfway at ease. "What's the deal?" She arched an eyebrow.
Posted by Gambit on Apr 13, 2007, 23:25
"So, Mary..." Remy leaned forward, placing his elbows on his knees and ruffling his hair, unsure where to begin.
"Had an accident once," he said finally. "Many years ago. Details don't matter. I was left in a situation I'd of surely died. Mary kinda picked me up at dat point, an' kept me alive until I reached de nearest town an' could get help."
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 15, 2007, 0:40
"She kept you ALIVE?" Typhoid's own experiences had been in direct contradiction to that- it didn't compute with her that...whatever Mary was had ever been inclined to help anyone.
Posted by Gambit on Apr 15, 2007, 0:43
"'Course," Remy shrugged. "She'd have no use of me dead. She's like a virus - she doesn't really exist if she's not in somebody's mind an' body."
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 15, 2007, 0:52
She nodded, swearing inwardly but only saying "And now I'm the carrier."
Posted by Gambit on Apr 15, 2007, 0:54
"Now you are," Remy agreed. "An' unless she finds a better one - or kills you off an' finds another one - well... you're pretty much bound together."
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 15, 2007, 0:58
"F*uck that." She said succinctly. "Xavier kicked her ass."
Posted by Gambit on Apr 15, 2007, 1:00
"Yeah, he could," Remy said. "I mean, I was just sayin' how things would be if left to themselves."
Posted by Typhoid Mary on Apr 15, 2007, 1:05
"They won't be," she said, shaking her head. "She's shattered in my mind thanks to him. It's how I knew you...I think." Letting that drop, she asked something else that had been grating at her. "Do you know what she is?"
Posted by Gambit on Apr 15, 2007, 1:18
How she knew him? So this shattered Mary gave away details of her past hosts... How logical... yet unsettling.
"She's a ghost," he said to Ty's question. "She died somewhere in 1990's, I think... I had some attempts of talkin' to her an' extractin' information. Was a mutant, too."
Typhoid walked in, brushing snow from her shoulders, and looked around. At least it was halfway empty. She walked in further, running gloved fingers over the bar.
