::Xavier sat in his office, immediately after his interrogation of the captured mutant. He was concerned, and he needed all of the information her could find. They were in need of outside help. As such, he called Gambit's Hellfire Club, in hopes of making contact with the other man::

Gambit picked up the phone. The secrecy of the club demanded no contacts, no secretaries and no formal "you're calling to" greetings; just as the location of the place, its phone number could only be made known to those who Gambit wanted to make it known to.
"Bon jour," he said simply. Whoever was calling, this was all the introduction they would need.

"Remy," ::Xavier began, his tone no-nonsense. This wasn't the time for idle conversation. He knew that Gambit hadn't left on the best of terms, but he hoped that he could appeal to the other man on grounds of similar protective urges. Gambit ran a bar for mutants; he ran a school. They had similar goals in mind, safe havens.:: "This is Charles Xavier. I need your assistance."

There was an instant-too-long pause on Gambit's end. If he had been making a list of people most likely to call Hellfire, Xavier would have been somewhere towards the end. Knowing that Mystique was now a part of the Institute's life, Remy didn't expect anybody from that area to need him so relatively soon... after the last time.
"Ca va Charles," he said finally, pronouncing 'Charles' in the French way, like he did usually. "What can I do for ya?"

"This isn't the most secure of connections, so I need to be brief. There's been an attack; I fear for more. Can you come to the Institute?" ::Xavier's trust of most methods of communication outside his immediate control had become suspect in the aftermath of the attack. He couldn't take more risks.::

"I'll be dere in an hour," Remy said.

"Thank you. Come to my office." ::Xavier replied, grateful that Gambit had agreed to assist. He had as much information available as he could find. A united front would be necessary.::

Remy left the club to the hands of one of the barmen and took his bike. If Xavier had found any reasons to connect 'mansion attack' and 'call Gambit' in his mind, things were serious, and Remy had to be quick.
