They returned in an hour, and Gambit immediately grabbed his laptop.
"Let's see what we got," he said, running the car brands through the search. "Corvette, Audi, BMW, Jaguar, and... no, we'll cross dat out right away," he deleted the last name before even typing it completely. "So, Shade seems to know on which side de bread is buttered..."

Shade couldn´t help a grin at the comment. She was sitting on the bed next to Gambit, legs crossed, leaning to the side so she could see what he was doing. "Well, stealing some rusty pick up would be no fun, wouldn´t it?" she said with a shrug.

"Why not?" Gambit shrugged. "Mon dieu, what a smart tunin' expert can do to a rusty truck..." he snickered and continued his search, looking for pluses/minuses of Shade's choices. "Ya already thought 'bout what to try first?"

"You mean once we got one?" Shade asked. "Not really." she said. "Find some nice highway, see how fast I can go?" The thought was tempting. The only car she had ever driven was her dad´s and that one had been just a normal family car. Nothing as expensive as any of those four.

"Oh." Shade said, looking up at the ceiling for a moment, thinking. "The jaguar." she then said.

"Bon," Gambit nodded. "De next one?"

"Then the Corvett." Shade said. "after that the Audi and last the BMW." It was her momentary list of preference for the moment. She didn´t know much about cars and therefore chose for looks, her mind already busy picking colours for disguise.

" 'kay," Gambit nodded. He would've lined them up differently, but it was her choice, and he so no serious reasons to object. Running the licence place numbers through various databases didn't give pretty much anything. The cars hadn't had any major accidents, hadn't been stolen, nothing of importance. Average vehicles from average owners. That had been the best thing so far.
He closed his laptop.

Shade turned her head to look at him. "So what we gonna do now?" she asked. "Check them in that order and steal the first we get an oportunity to steal or check which car is easiest?"

"De former," Gambit said, getting his feet off the bed and onto the floor. "Tell me, Thiefette, what d'ya think we gonna need?"

Shade leant back, supporting her body with her elbows. "Gloves." she said. "To avoid finger prints." She paused for a moment, thinking. "Dark clothes, at least for you. Pick locks for the garage in case there is one. Er...a knife maybe to do the whole get the car running without keys thing? If we don´t break in to get keys that is." She couldn´t think of anything else for the moment and gave him a questioning look. "I´m sure I forgot something." she said.

"Flashlight," Gambit said. "An' scotch." The overview she gave was fairly basic, but good nonetheless - it was the necessary minimum that could do the job in most cases. He got off the bed.

Shade raised an eyebrow, not sure whether she had gotten him right. "Scotch?" she asked. "As in whiskey? Whatever do we need that for?" The flashlight made more sense.

"Scotch tape," Gambit said patiently, trying not to laugh.
