Gambit stopped the bike at the hotel he'd chosen from the avaiable options, took his helmet off and turned to Shade. "Ya got enough money t' pay for de room?" he asked.

Shade nodded. She didn´t know how much exactly the hotel room would cost but there was enough left on her bank account for her not to worry about running out of money if she paid. She wondered why he asked her that. She didn´t feel offended, it was just that he had never asked such a thing, as money had never been an issue for Gambit or at least this had been her impression. It added to the long list of questions that were in her head by now and that were trying to piece together an image of the reason for his inner turmoil. "I do." she said. She could ask him about things like that, ask him about what had become of his apartment, later, if he didn´t chose to tell her anyways. "Maybe not enough in cash, but I have a credit card." She immidiately considered that he might say no to the latter, as credit cards left traces.

Shade gave him a look. This was hiding, she sensed and he didn´t want to be seen. It sounded likely for her that the next thing he would ask her to do was to come out again invisibly to get him."Okay." she said. "If you don´t want to be seen though, you needn´t stand here and wait. If you put your hand on my shoulder and keep the contact I will manage do vanish you until I got us a room and we got there."

"We got a bike to park," Gambit said. "An' I don' mind bein' partially seen. Jus' don' want anybody seein' my face an' knowin' my name, is all."

Shade nodded. "All right." she said. "I´ll be back in a moment." She leant closer to give him a brief kiss, before she turned to walk towards the hotel entrance.
Walking up to the reception desk, she started to think. For now, the reasons behind Gambit´s acting were secondary as there were other things to consider, details. If she asked for a double room, that might sound strange as she was alone,and didn´t know whether Gambit would ask to smuggle him in later or not but then again a room with a single bed would be a little uncomfortable. Wondering how she could solve the problem, she stepped up to the reception and gave the man behind it a smile. "I´d like to book a room." she said. "For tonight, maye longer." The receptionist took away the problem she had pondered as there were more and less exclusive single rooms which as she asked for differences, turned out to differ in some respects one of which was that the more expensive ones were larger and had a larger bed. That wouldn´t raise suspicion and she chose that option, getting a room on the third floor.
"Do you have a car to park?" the receptionist asked when she paid for the first night, giving her personal information. She found she could afford the price in cash.
"A bike, yes." she said. The receptionist handed her a swipe card for the underground parking lot and she left another amount of money which she would get back when she handed the card back when she would leave. With another smile she turned and left to meet Gambit outside.

Gambit smoked a cigarette while he was waiting for Shade. When she finally appeared, walking back from the reception, he spotted a swipe card in her hands. He started the bike and waited for her to get on.

"The underground parking is on the other side of the hotel." Shade said, stepping up to him, climbing on the bike so they could drive round and look for a parking lot. "I got us a single room, because I didn´t know if you wanted to be seen inside, but it´s big enough for two."

Gambit had mentioned earlier that he didn't mind being seen, but that didn't matter anymore. He nodded briefly and drove the bike to the parking lot.
Once they got off the bike, he opened the carriage compartment and took out his few things, then put his sunglasses on, took Shade's hand and went towards the exit from the parking lot into the hotel.

Shade had gotten the keys earlier already, when she had received the swipe card, so there was no need to go back to the reception. They walked straight past it and took the elevator to the third floor.
The room was rather large with a big bedroom and a nicely sized bathroom closing on to it. The furniture was not too luxurious but not too plain either and the bed was almost a double, just as the receptionist had mentioned. Shade switched on the lights and closed the door, leaning against it for a brief moment, before she walked towards Gambit. Just because she felt like it, she closed her arms around him, drawing him close.

It felt safer right now, when Gambit knew there couldn't be anybody watching behind his back. He took his sunglasses off, throwing them to the floor, pulled Shade even closer and leaned down to kiss her, not holding back this time.

He was responsive now, Shade noticed contently, whereas back on the bridge where they had kissed twice, Gambit had always broken away soon, as if he was edgy and feeling observed. She took it as a hint to let her kiss grow more demanding. She slightly tightened her grip around his waist, seeking closer contact, revelling in his closeness. She felt she needed it after the time of his absence and her own little troubles and worries.

One of Gambit's hands slid around Shade's neck into the hair on the back of her head while the other made its way down to her waist and under the hem of her top. He let his tongue slide into her mouth, exploring her taste anew.

Shade eagerly accepted his tongue, stroking it with her own, deepening the kiss even more. One hand travelled up Gambit´s back lightly, betraying the firm grip her other hand had around his waist. After a moment she broke away slightly for air, staying close enough for her lips to almost touch his. "I want you." she said in a low voice, nibbling his bottom lip slightly but demandingly so.

Gambit smiled in response. "An' I want you," he said in a low voice, planting a light kiss on her lips, then, after a second's thought, picked her up and carried her the few feet that separated them from the bed.
