After her talk with Nimrod about the Prophecy and settling back into the mansion, Laura headed to the Hellfire Club for the first time. She was told that was were the mutant know as Gambit could most likely be found. Nimrod had mentioned him in their talk, so Laura thought she'd take the initiative to find out if he knew anything else about this artificial intelligence that was going to attack them. She was trying her hardest not to dwell on what had happened to her, and what she had done.
Arriving at the club, she was dressed to blend in with all the others. A pair of black leather pants hung on her hips while she wore a simple pair of black leather boots that zipped on the side matching the pants.. Her outfit was completed with a black holster top that zipped up in the front, showing off her toned mid-drift and a locket hung around her neck attached to a choker. Laura's hair was pulled back in a braid that went down her back. Her arms had a pair of black arm warmers that had a picture of a red skull on the outside of her palms.
Walking through the mutant detector and into the club, she noticed her exits first, then anyone that could possibly be a bouncer, before looking at anything else. There were quite a lot of mutants residing in the club tonight, that she didn't know how she was going to find this Gambit person. Her best bet, she felt in finding him was to try the bar, so she headed there first. Sitting down, she ordered a rum and coke. Alcohol didn't effect her unless she had a large sum in a short amount of time so one drink wasn't going to do anything to her.

(( after "Morphing into Shade" ))
As the remnants of the story surrounding Shade's involvement in a murder and a court trial were dissipating into thin air and became, hopefully, history, Gambit found himself once again comfortably returning to his nice place behind the barstand at the Hellfire Club, indulging himself in talking to people and finding out things about them.
His most recent customer, it seemed, was more cautious than relaxed. As such, it was probably her first time at the Club and she felt on guard. Gambit took her order of rum and coke and, placing the highball on a coaster on the counter, he asked, casually, "First time at de 'ellfire Club, chere?"

Laura's attention was the activities going on in the club and not the bar itself, but she did have one ear trained on it. When she heard the glass get placed down, and the mutant speak to her, Laura turned her attention to him. His accent was southern but he spoke French, meaning mostly likely Cajun. "Yes," She took a sip of her drink letting the liquid go down her throat, before placing the glass back down and looking at the mutant in front of her. His eyes were glowing red and he had auburn colored hair. "It's different from other places I've been," In all the data retrieval exercises she'd been through growing up in Weapon X she knew she had to seem approachable, if she wanted to discover who this person was.

"Dif'rent good or dif'rent bad?" Gambit asked, grabbing the change another patron left on the counter and then wiping the counter clean.

"Not sure yet," She said glancing around before turning her attention back to the bartender. "Is it always like this, or did I just come on a good night?" Normally, Laura wouldn't be this talkative or friendly, but she was on a mission.

"Really?" She asked picking up her glass again. "I'm guessing you've worked here a while?" Bartenders were always good sources when looking for someone. They saw everyone and knew the regulars so if he worked here for a while he should know Gambit, if her sources were right about him being a regular here. Laura took a small sip of her drink holding her glass in one of her hands.

Laura wasn't expecting to be speaking to the founder and owner. "So you must know all the regulars that come in here?" She wasn't use to things going right for her, but she was going to take advantage of it.

Laura mimicked his smile before taking another sip of her drink before placing it down on the bar. "How bout a mutant referred to as Gambit?" Normally when trying to find someone, she wouldn't offer the name of who she was looking for, but it was the easiest way to get a reaction and an answer.

"I live over at the Xavier Mansion," Laura stated seeming casual in her answer. "Couple people told me, he could be found here,"

It was a tricky situation - if someone at the mansion had mentioned him, he couldn't get out of it by saying that a person by name of Gambit definitely never appeared in the Club. There was another tricky point: the girl's source could have given Gambit's general description (if it was anyone he knew), which matched his, of course, so flat out lying would not be pretty at all.
Then he checked himself. With Shade's story reduced to mere unpleasant memories and with their lives being safe and [more or less] open again, there was no dire need in secrecy anymore. Especially considering his good relationships with Xavier's mansion.
"Den Gambit is me," he nodded, shedding his guarded attitude.

Laura understood his need for precaution. She, herself, was a very guarded individual. "Nice to meet you," Laura raised her glass to him finishing her drink, before placing the glass back on the bar. Now that she had her target, she needed to get down to business.
