Ty wasn't a teacher, but she understood about hard to manage powers. "I can't promise miracles, but I can help you practice, if you want."

"That would be great," Alex said, grateful, "I'm sure I could benefit a lot from a training in pair, especially since our powers are so similar... in the sense of wreaking havoc."

She laughed openly. "Yeah, at least in here the havoc stays at low levels. I'm still waiting for the Mansion to explode some day, though."

Alex chuckled, but avoided meeting her glance for a moment, staring mostly at his feet. The joke was of the kind which had an element of truth in it.
"So what is this place like?" he asked, to make the topic a bit less somber. "How does it work, how do you operate it?"

"You mean the room in general?" She gestured to the Danger Room around them. "It's actually pretty simple, as far as working it goes. There's a room up there..." She pointed at the observation window, now visible since there was no program running. "...where you program scenarios and people can observe you. It's safe from whatever chaos goes on down here." She gave a small smile.

Alex took a mental note. Scott's explanation of the Room's controls had been way too brief the previous time around; now Alex wanted to learn how to run this thing on his own.
"So you merely programmed this... block thing?" he asked, referring to Typhoid's object of study.

"Yeah, it's just done by touch menu, which is easier for me. I like computers but I'm no programmer. The Professor and the X-Men are better at controlling the thing then I am, or making up brand new scenarios." She held up the block. "This is pretty simple to set. You select a program for a block, and set it up to recreate it every time it's destroyed." She used her powers to turn the block to ash. Another block appeared on the floor near her. "Just like that. It can be way more involved, of course, and they have standard practice programs with different levels of difficulty."

"Ah," Alex said. He glanced back up at the control room, thinking that he'd need to ask someone experienced to come over later and show him how it was run. "Well, I guess I'll leave you to it, then, I've pestered you enough with noob questions for one day," he chuckled.

Ty shook her head at the 'pestering' part of his comment with a small smile. "No big deal, honestly. One more failure and I probably would have given the protections on some of the mechanics in this room a run for their money," she said, chuckling. "And welcome to the Mansion."

"Thank you," Alex's smile was sincere. "I'll make sure to talk to you again when I start my own training. Good luck in yours," he nodded at the regenerated wooden block.

"Thanks," she said, with a nod in his direction. "See you around?"

"Definitely," Alex said and with a small wave of hand left the room.
