Even though she was still trying to be subtle about covering as much of herself as possible, she shrugged. "I don't know, we drink and dance, maybe make new friends... regular stuff, it's just a party."

The music in the main hall slowly decreased to a background beat, providing the patrons of the club with a small pause while the lasershow artists prepared their equipment on the gallery above.

"Let's get a drink first, then?" Alex suggested. "Who's the designated driver tonight?"

Gambit decided to linger for a while until the show would start. He took his time while looking around the hall and spotting people he knew, observing what others were doing and with whom they were hanging out.

"I am," she said without hesitation. "Sorry, but nobody drives my truck but me. I'll have one beer, if that's okay with you."

Betsy didn't look up as the music changed. She knew there were a lot of things planned for the night, and assumed one of them was about to start. If, as she thought, the man with the red eyes ran this place, he might have been delayed by this. Regardless, the game was up if she looked for him. It would be a show of weakness.

Alex raised his hands, showing he wasn't making any claims on the truck and it had been just a suggestion. "Sure," he said. "Where did the music go? Something coming up?"

Violet nodded. "There's supposed to be some live music and some other stuff tonight," she answered. "Let's hit the bar before things get too crazy." She started walking toward the bar, very aware that the entire back of her revealing costume was now visible to Alex.

"I would be careful with that," she said. "Wonderwoman knows a thing or two about some whoopass. She´d probably not just let that happen." "Then we should unite!" Lance declared, making sweeps with his clawed hands to one side and then another. "Rule the world and create a new awesome race!"

Shade narrowed her eyes slightly. "Who says I don´t have my own plans at world domination underway already?" she prompted back.

Alex did take a better look at Violet's outfit. As much as he had been able to make of it in the confined space of the car, it looked better with her standing up. He hadn't realized until now that not only her midriff but her back as well were bare, and he simply appreciated the sight.
When they got to the bar, he ordered himself a soda, never having been much of alcohol drinker, not even socially.

The lights dimmed, at once pierced by several shafts of colorful light. Those were projected by an artist with light-controlling mutant ability; he was sitting near the cleared stage corner of the hallway, working from there, while the laser equipment would project the images from above. The music picked up to a techno crescendo.

With her glowing drink in hand, Emily was sitting in one of the booths, looking in the direction of the light show. She had earlier spotted Odin at the bar, talking to a blonde woman, and now she saw Alex and Violet pass by, also heading in the same direction, but she didn't start waving at them and attracting their attention, feeling just too content where she was at the moment.

Violet wondered why Alex had asked about a designated driver when he didn't intend to drink. She didn't know him well enough to reconsider her policy on letting other people drive her truck. The light show started and Violet was distracted not only from her drink, but from her discomfort in her costume. For the first time that night, her costume was completely visible because she wasn't pulling on it. She nudged Alex and pointed, as if he could have missed it. Then she started giggling.

Alex looked up and then followed Violet's pointing, in case there was something particular she wanted him to notice. Not having noticed, though, he leaned over to her ear so that she'd hear him over the booming music. "What's so funny?" he asked.
