Had Gambit known her thoughts, he would have insisted on the term 'mystical', not 'magical', but then again he was just freshly from Tante Mattie's voodoo hideaway and his mind was still magnetized in the direction of all things esoteric. It could have been one of the reasons why he had picked this particular girl to spend the evening with - Tante Mattie believed that when strangers accidentally catch each other's eye, it's no accident at all, and though he didn't quite agree with this, it lingered somewhere in the back of his mind. And this definitely was the reason why he gave in to sex with her with such intensity, being dominant and demanding and taking from her as much as one could at all ever ask during the sex with a stranger. It turned him on even more that, even though he hadn't said a word yet, she seemed to be responsive and adapting quickly to his unspoken demands. Betsy didn't have quite the backdrop for this particular encounter, but she could feel that something was different, that this man was special somehow. She wondered if it had something to do with his ability, but not for long. She was somewhat hypnotized by the almost silent exchange, by the natural rhythm, by the way they seemed to compliment each other. She surrendered to the sensation, her eyes briefly closing.

Lance stared after her in surprise for a few moments, not sure what had gotten into her. However, he was in a merrier mood now and so soon he was off, already looking for someone else to hit on.

But there had been someone else. Another man, dark hair, her age maybe. She looked around the club, trying to make out faces in the hectic light .. and spotted him on the dancefloor. She made her way towards him. Kevin was just wandering around, hoping to find some distraction. He'd come to the club in search of some rest and fun, and instead had had to run and fly across vast distances of ruined New York City. He needed some actual partying to throw all of this out of his mind and actually unwind.

Intent not to lose her sight of the guy, Shade made her way through the crowd. Minutes ago...or how long had she actually been standing there? she had been affected by the music, now tat was completely gone.
So Shadey, how to go about this? You can´t really walk up to the guy and ask him whether he just had the same bizarre...dream? She needed to know, needed to make sure that it was not just something funny happening to her own head.
Reaching the young man she tried to look casual, even though anxiety was probably written all over your face. "Hey," she said. "Have I seen you around earlier?" SOmething that could easily be interpreted as a hit on line, but if he had been at that place as well, he might hopefully notice it was not such.

Kevin turned to look at the woman who was asking him that question. Seeing her, the same one with whom he had been hiding towards the end of that weird displacement scenario, the same face, the same costume, however little he'd caught a glimpse of it earlier, he froze for a second, slightly opening his mouth in surprise.
"I guess you have," he said finally.

The reaction was rather telling and Shade could feel herself relax, like some big weight had just been lifted off her chest. She indicated towards the edge of the dancefloor. "What in the world was that?" she asked, having to raise her voice over the music.

"I have no idea!" Kevin replied. "But I certainly don't want it to happen again!"

"Me neither," Shade agreed, having a look around. She still couldn´t spot any of the others. "I was wondering if it had just been me." The party around them had not been interrupted by this at all and that seemed almost bizarre to Shade who still felt strange after being catapulted back from a world that was all destruction and debris.

A small content smile appeared on his face while his eyes were closed.

"Apparently, not," Kevin replied. "But there were others, right? I saw more people there before it all blew up."

"Yeah," Shade said, looking around. "There was someone I know from Xavier´s Institute, but I think she´s left already." No wonder, Shadey, she thought to herself, knowing that she would like to be out of this place soon as well. It was just that... her mood to party wasn´t there any more. The other two, she wondered, who had they been? Xavier´s people as well?

A small content smile appeared on his face while his eyes were closed. Betsy let her fingers touch his hair gently, in a distracted sort of way. She was deliciously exhausted and once again enjoying the dancer in the window. There was still no reason to exchange words, she felt, and simply enjoyed this moment of relaxation.

Not much help, Kevin thought. He didn't know anybody from the group he'd seen back in the ruined city, and had been hoping at least she'd tell him. "What's your name?" he asked.

There had been a time once when Shade had felt more relaxed and self assured around strangers, when she had possessed more of an openness towards them that some might see as slightly naive. She had lost part of that through what had happened in that hotel. She was more on guard now when meeting someone she didn´t know yet - both because it could be someone she knew after all or, if she didn´t, it might be someone who had plans on his or her own. This one had saved her minutes earlier by dragging her into that building. ´Saved´ as far as one could call it that, but that still didn´t mean Shade instantly trusted him.
"I´m Shade." she said.

Well, he needed to dot the i.
