We are revitalizing the Institute to make sure that all student and faculty characters have enough to do, both "on screen" in threads and "off screen" to explain what is happening in their lives when not in specific threads.
What does this mean?
Classes are in session as usual, but now there will be specifics. The Institute runs three terms each years, an autumn semester (made up of two quarters for grading purposes), a spring semester (again made of two quarters for graing purposes) and a shortened summer session for those who need the additional classes (which has one quarter).
These are the current courses and their staff, which can also be found in the Classrooms board in the individual room sub-board information:
Professor Xavier - Literature and Philosophy
Mister Summers (Cyclops) - Mathematics (all of them) and Economics
Miss Munroe (Storm) - U.S. History and Earth Science
Shade - European History and Creative Writing
Mister Wagner (Nightcrawler) - German
Doctor McCoy (Beast) - Biology and Chemistry
Miss Patterson (Gravity) - Physics
Miss Collins (Wallflower) - Dramatic Arts/Theater (beginning over the summer)
Alex Summers (Havok) - Physical Education
Tutoring in other subjects will be offered as well, and will be announced, as will changes to the subjects above. There is a tutoring room, where all tutees and tutors will meet, for various subjects. The will be listed in the classroom when they are worked out, and will aslo be announced here.
There will be course sign ups and so if you have a student character, think about what classes you want to have them take. After sign ups, there will be at least one class thread per subject per term, although not necessarily the first class.
Additionally, there will be updates about what is being studied in the class posted so student characters have direction for what they are learning, and what assignments they will have in the background (this will also help set scenes for threads). Be on the lookout for these. You do not have to actually complete assignments, since we are not inflicting homework on players.
