He had not forgotten his promise to the girl. He had promised her to help with the decoration but someone else had held him up. It didn´t happen that often but now and then one of the mansion people came to him for advice or council. Not necessarily those that were closest to religion nor did he think this to be a give but some seemed to feel comfortable around telling him about their problems, just to have someone listening. He had not put that person down but it had made him run late for appointment.
When he had arrived at the gym, it had been empty, all the decoration put up already and Kurt had guessed that the girl must have found someone else to help her. Therefore, the other day, he went looking for her. He didn´t know where her dormitory was so he did what looked easiest: looking for her outside on the grounds.

Iris had hidden herself away in an empty room near the attic. Though she was growing use to the influx of people who wanted to be near her, she still craved moments on her own. Her room had become a bustling hive of girls trying on dresses, making requests, and changing their minds mid-project. She needed a moment to clear her head, to work on her own projects, and enjoy being alone. In front of a large open window, she enjoyed the warm sunlight and the extra light it gave her to see her sewing.
Her long blond hair had been tied up in a braid, her blond hair poking out into long tendrals around her face, the braid hung over her shoulder. She wore a pair of thin, square reading glasses which she had grown fond of for seeing her work. Dressed in a nice tan tank top and a dark blue skirt, she sat in an old chair, her legs tucked underneath her as she worked on a light blue piece of material in her lap. Recently, though she had no idea why, she had grown fond of the color blue. She had begun to wear it more as it made her own light blue eyes pop more against her fair skin.
A radio gently wafted classical music, a radio station she had been delighted to find. Settling back in the chair she continued to hand sew little stitches into the dress. Movement from outside caused her to stop and turn her head. She lifted an eyebrow and smirked, she would know that headful of blue hair. She leaned her arms on the sill of the window and gazed that Kurt.
"You look like a man with a lot in his mind and in his heart," she called down to him and smiling. "You look like you're looking for something, anything I can do to help? I'm not one to claim to be a preacher, but I do go to church every Sunday and I sing in the choir."
She then grinned showing off her white teeth, "I'd offer to let down my hair tp help you up. But I think teleporting would be more constructive and save my hair follicles from pain."

He had walked in casually, just to peek in but Kurt raised his head when she adressed him, spotting her on one of the raised window sills.
"Not too much on my mind." he called up to her. "just that I was looking for you." He followed her advice and with a cracking sound disappeared on the spot only to materialise a few feet away from her. "I broke my promise," he said directly. "and I came to apologize. I didn´t mean to but something held me up and I couldn´t come by." Funny that she would mention preachers he thought.

"Though I wonder if charged with enough of my power it would be possible for someone to climb up my hair?" Iris asked before realizing that Kurt had teleported and appeared behind her. Everytime he did it she found it fasinating how quickly he moved. She wondered how it felt to teleport. While she still struggled to try to fly, failing at just barely hovering, he moved with such ease. Her cheeks flushed again as he mentioned her had been looking for her. With so much time spent with her cheeks red it wasn't a wonder that Kurt didn't think she was ill.
She lifted an eyebrow again and apologized for skipping out on helping with the decorations. As he spoke she busied herself with her sewing to try to ignore his eyes on her, they were very distracting. "I figured as much, you have a lot more responsibilities then I have," she said looking up and her, the sides of her eyes crinkling a little. "I wasn't mad, just a little sad and disappointed I had really wanted to hang the decorations with you and Pixie. But in the end we managed on our own, with a few sore shoulders and aching limbs, we managed."
"Besides, I can't be angry with you," she said waving her hand before standing up and holding the dress up to herself and looking down at it. "Not as flashy as a lot of the dresses the other girls have, but enough for the refreshment attendent. What do you think?" she asked Kurt.

Kurt was usually rather good at reading between the lines. He was good observer and the way Weaver worded things bore a trace of seriousness. She wanted him to know she had been disappointed, otherwise she would not have mentioned it. It didn´t really make him feel good about it, but since she changed the topic he decided she had brushed it off till now and it would be awkward to get back to it this very moment.
"Hübsch" (pretty) he said, using German as he would not and then, tossing in single words or phrases in his first language. "and you made it yourself, that´s far better than just buying one, you should keep that in mind."

"This dress, no this was a simple one to make. Pixie had pleats in the skirt of hers, then other people wanted sequins, lace, mesh for poofy skirts, and colors so many colors. My fingers might be permently dyed from all the dyed cloth I did," Iris said holding up her hand to show the green/brown stains from the dye. "I'm at least hoping that the girls I made dresses for know that they'll last for a very long time and that they'll wear them at other events. But teenage girls can be fickle so I'm not sure to expect much so that I'm not disappointed," Iris said sinking back into the chair and going back to sewing. "So what held you up, if you don't mind me asking?" she then asked him.

She seemed to erupt into a blur of words that did not mean much to a guy like him and many of which did not bear a meaning for him at all. There were quite a few things that Kurt did not know much about and one of those things was most definitely fashion. He didn´t linger on the topic since he could not possibly contribute anything good he guessed.
"Someone from the mansion." he said. "I sometimes work as a kind of counsellor here. In a way."

"Oh, I imagine many of the students are looking for someone older to guide them," Iris said smirking a little, "I get quite a few through the kitchen late at night. They get their bellies filled and head filled with knowledge and positive ideas. It's unsure times for young mutants, you're probably a much calmer force for the students."
"I don't want to pry into that person's business, but if you need any help, I can help," Iris said looking over her glasses at Kurt.

It was a curious thing to offer but he was not the type of guy to make fun of others. "What kind of help?" he asked, not to show that he didn´t need any but actually curious what she had meant by that.

"Well," Iris said thinking, "Maybe with the girls?" she frowned a little, "I'm not really worldly wise but I go to church every Sunday, I could take a few students. I could offer hobbies to them, music, dancing, erm, a book club? I'm not really sure how I could help, but I'd want to."
How could she say that when it came to Kurt, she would help in any way she could? She couldn't, but she could offer in her own way, that was enough.

"I think that would be a nice idea, offering something like that." Kurt said. "maybe you should talk to the professor about it. I am sure he would like it." Her mentioning about girls made him alert a little and he suddenly wondered what she might be thinking about him. Whether the way she acted around him, her shyness was maybe not merely what she was like but also had a flirtatious nature to it. Truth be told he had never been a lady´s man but in the end that had not hindered him too much in the end. He thought of Wanda fondly.

Iris shrugged, "I'm not sure, I'm not very worldly wise and I don't understand a lot of the problems a lot of the students have. Like online boyfriends or girlfriends, or parents, or homework. My worst fear would guiding them the wrong way and it turning out terribly," Iris then went back to looking busy with her stitching.
She then felt him looking at her and she looked up at him blinking her eyes a little puzzled at his gaze. She half wondered what he was thinking, "Well, if anything I think if I did start a book club, the students wouldn't be interested in reaching The Hunchback of Notre Dame, or Picture of Dorian Gray. I think these Twilight Books are what they enjoy reading now."

Kurt gave a small shrug. "I could imagine that there are plenty who prefer classics." he said. He had never read Twilight, nor had he heard about it much, he wasn´t too up to date about what teenagers read or listened to. But her words made him think of something else. If tehre were people looking for advice it was usually on deeper matters. "And I wouldn´t be a good counsellor for typical teenage problems either." he therefore added.

Iris chewed on her bottom lip again and then sighed, a small smile appearing on her face when she knew she had been beat. It seemed like no matter what she said Kurt seemed to talk her out of it otherwise. "You seem to think I'm more able then I am. But I will try, and I will try my best," she told him still looking a little worried. "Since you seem to always push me more then I'd like."

"Do I?" Kurt asked in slight amusement, almost giving a little chuckle. It didn´t seem to take much he thought, to encourage her and once more he caugt himself thinking that she had a tendency to think too low of herself. "Well, you are more their age, you would be able to relate better than me I am sure."
