::Since losing his license, Karl's life consisted primarily of finding creative ways to kill time. He had no wife waiting for him at home, no work to do, no other family, and he was ostracized by his new neighbors. He had nothing better to do than have a cup of coffee with this woman, and as she was more polite than most people he'd met, he had no reason to refuse.:: "Pick a place, just not he one on the corner. Their coffee is terrible."

Wanda nodded. "I've tried that place before, it is quite terrible." She turned and pointed. "There's a new one built across the street from the one on the corner, and it's decent." They could try that one; it was a coffeehouse pretty much like any other, with overstuffed furniture in bland pastels and elevator music.

"Let's go," ::Karl pulled his coat around himself and began walking off in the general direction. Down the corner and across the street.::

Wanda followed him, her heels clacking as she kept up with his pace. In only a minute or two, they crossed the street and entered the coffeeshop. There were several people there, sipping coffee and talking in quiet tones.

::Several of the patrons turned to look at them as they entered, and Karl paid them no mind; he was used to the stares and the attention. Ignoring them, he stepped into line and studied the posted menu.::

Wanda stepped behind him and studied the menu also. When it was their turn to order she asked for a coffee with a double shot of espresso; she would need the caffeine.

::Karl ordered a mocha latte because he wasn't in any particular mood for coffee. He also ordered a vanilla scone because they were there.::

It took a few minutes, between the making of the drinks and the exchanging of money, but when they had their items, Wanda pointed to a table towards the back of the place. Once they sat down, she gratefully sipped her coffee. "Do you live here in the City, Karl?" She asked curiously.

::Karl followed her to a table isolated from the others, which made him more comfortable. Sitting across from her, he sipped his latte.:: "No, I don't. I live up north a bit."

"Ah, I see," she said with a nod. "I live outside the City, in Westchester. My brother and I board at the school my Uncle runs."

::That was a bit too coincidental, although Karl feigned partial ignorance for a moment.:: "Is your brother a mutant too?"

"Yes," She said, nodding. "He can run at great speeds." She took a sip of coffee, enjoying the warm feeling it brought her.

::Karl decided that it was time to ask the question, although he already knew the answer from what she had said. He lowered his voice marginally, to avoid drawing any further attention to them. His green skin already attracted too much attention.:: "Your uncle wouldn't be Charles Xavier, would he?"

Wanda frowned, taken aback by that. "Yes, he is," she said cautiously. "Why do you ask?" Could he be the parent of a mutant who went to the school?

"I know the type of school he runs," ::Karl replied, sipping his latte. There was little more to it than that.::
