Kitty shrugged. "I guess some things are a little different here." She said, laughing a little. She pulled her coat off and wove it between her arms, which were crossed over her chest. She was a little at a loss at this point, since she wasn't much for the dance floor and even less interested in drinking. She opted for the latter. "Let's get something to drink." She called out over the music.

Lorna took off her coat, yelling over the music. "OK!" The music was some sort of dance remix of music Lorna'd heard on the radio, but that wasn't what was catching her attention. A man walked by covered head to foot in scales, and a woman with horns and a bifurcated tail. There were people Lorna couldn't but a gender to, but on the other side, there were mutants that looked just like her and Kitty, though some had oddly colored hair, or eyes, or tattoos. "Wow."

Kitty had already started toward the bar when she heard Lorna's 'wow.' She turned, curious, and asked, "What?"

Lorna had to raise her voice to be heard, but over the music her voice might as well have been at it's normal level. "I've never seen mutants like that," she said, nodding at the mutants in question. "I mean, not like this, where no one cares what they look like."

Kitty grinned. "It's pretty great, isn't it?" She looked around, taking in the mutants around them. Kitty was so comfortable with who she was as a mutant that she had started taking certain things for granted. She found Lorna's amazement refreshing.

"Yeah..." Lorna was still amazed, and a little...impressed. It was what everyone who sticks out hopes for, a place where they don't stick out. Lorna even felt normal by comparison, and she usually felt as if she stuck out like a sore thumb.

Kitty reached the bar, put her coat over a stool before sitting. She was a little out of her element and was starting to feel uneasy. All promises she had made to herself not to drink were seeming a bit silly now. She felt she could have a beer or two just as social lubricant.

Lorna put her coat over the back of the seat one away from Kitty and sat down in the seat beside her. "I...don't think I should be drinking. Alcohol, I mean."

Kitty's discomfort was starting to show. "That's totally up to you. They have soda and stuff." She said to Lorna as she tried to get the bartender's attention. Once he was in earshot, Kitty ordered a Corona.

She ordered a Pepsi when the bartender asked what she wanted, although she thought about asking for one of those drinks she liked with Red Bull in it, later. "Are you ok?" she asked Kitty, noticing how she seemed to be a little unhappy.

The bartender popped the top off her bottle and handed it to Kitty. In her nervousness, she downed almost half of it in one fell swoop. Making a face, she answered Lorna, "This isn't really my scene, but I'll be alright." She forced a smile. The last thing she wanted was to ruin Lorna's night out.

::Odin had come to the Hellfire Club to unwind; it had been a week after the riot, and he had spent more hours than he should have at the office writing about it and watching news coverage, in the name of work and research. His sleeping patterns had worsened, and he was tired; tired enough to ignore his tracking sense. Approaching the bar, he caught the bartender who was tending to two young women, and asked for a rum and coke.::

"Are you sure? We can go, if you want." Lorna didn't want to keep her here if she didn't want to be.

Kitty smiled. Lorna was a really sweet girl. "No, I'll be fine." She said, then guzzled down the rest of her first beer and hailed the bartender.

Lorna's eyebrows rose at Kitty downing the beer, impressed. "I don't think I could do that if I tried hard."
