"Depending on where," ::Xavier agreed. He would enjoy going out with her for a few hours, but he would go to no clubs; he preferred a more sedate atmosphere.::

"Perhaps for dinner, and then the theatre," She suggested. A club would be awkward for the both of them, she knew. And so somewhere more traditional would be best, and they both would enjoy it.

::Xavier nodded in approval; on the surface, that was fine.:: "Perhaps."

She nodded, accepting that for now. As they were in the bedroom, changed for the night, after watching the news on the television she had bought and placed here, it was easy to go to bed. Raven bid him a good night and pleasant dreams, giving him a kiss goodnight. Tomorrow night would be different; she had more elaborate plans, now that she was getting back into the habit.

::Xavier was tired, and thus his perception of her thoughts were hazier than otherwise; he assumed the mental plans she thought of were for dancing and thought nothing of it. Within minutes, he was asleep.::

The next day they enjoyed typical activities; Raven tending to Abigail and Charles teaching his classes. But once more, later in the evening, Mystique told Xavier she was going dancing and left. Gathering her materials, she headed back to the same spot as last time.
This time she needed more complex spells. More protection circles were drawn, more candles lit. She was performing three spells tonight instead of one. The first was to rid the world of the ridiculous Brotherhood and place them in jail where they could cause no trouble. The second was to slightly...change Erik's perceptions. It wouldn't do to have him killed with the destruction of the Brotherhood, and he was too irritable while he stayed here already. A bit more accepting would do him well, as well as no more ideological battles.
And the third... The third one was for Charles. She had noticed recently that he seemed to be more self-conscious of his body than usual, though she adored him for all he was. Raven was particularly upset at the lot they had drawn together. With her healing factor, she would live much longer than he, and she didn't want to be alone. And didn't want Abigail to be without a father. This spell was one her grandmother had never used, but taught her, cautioning her that it must be used with care. If the spell backfired, much could go wrong. But if it worked, Charles would get slightly younger, depending on how much time she suggested. Five years for now, to see how it worked out. And maybe more later.
After she was finished, it was quite late. As promised, when she returned to the bedroom she took care not to wake him. Tired from the late hour and loss of energy, she fell asleep quickly.

::It was not until two days after Raven's last night out dancing that Xavier was shocked to read an article in the local paper. The Brotherhood's secret hotel base had been discovered, and all of the members had been arrested, pending trial. That was another threat to peaceful coexistence which had met its end, but to occur so quickly after Olsson's passing was peculiar.::

Raven saw the article in the newspaper later the same day, though not when Charles was around. It was immensely satisfying, and hopefully there would be peace for some time. Peace would allow her to focus on other matters, like family. Though there wasn't any physical evidence, Charles had been less tired the night before after they spent the night together. Perhaps it was a sign that her other spell was working. Though she didn't see enough of Erik to determine if that one was just yet.

::Xavier, however, did see enough of Erik to notice a slight change. The next day, when he brought up the arrests, Erik denied knowing anything about them, and added that it was likely "for the best." They were also able to play chess that night without breaking another board.::

When Xavier returned that night from his chess game, Raven was already in bed, with a novel in hand. "How did your chess game go?" She asked. He always played with Erik; it had become their habit.

"It went well," ::Xavier replied. Erik had behaved civilly, which was all that could be expected.::

"That's good," She said brightly. "I checked on Abigail a little while ago, and she's sleeping peacefully."

"Wonderful," ::Xavier was always concerned about Abigail's health. The Institute was always busy, which could impede the sleep of an infant.::

She smiled, and shifted over on the bed for him to join her.

::Xavier joined her in bed and settled beside her, before falling asleep. Over the next week, he felt himself more energized than he had in some time;; he attributed it to proper diet and a lack of negative thoughts around the Institute. Nonetheless, he was pleased.::
