::It was uncharacteristically warm for the season, and free of snow; the Professor knew he could thank Ororo for that, but would not mention it to her explicitly. Clad in a sweater, he decided to take advantage of the fresh air, and settled himself onto the patio with his lesson plan and several books he was screening for his philosophy class.::

Shade had decided to have a stroll around the grounds as she usually did now and then. There was no particular reason for it, nothing apart from doing a little thinking and walking around, ear plugs of her MP3 player in her ears. As it had become a habit ever since she had been chased by the Sentinel, she would use moments like these for a little power training, so she was flickering them on and off, working the finer layers of her invisibility to form patterns and zig zag lines on the ground around her in a radius of about a metre where her feet touched the ground as she walked.

::The Professor glanced up as he felt a familiar mental presence, although he saw no person on the grounds. Shade was practicing her abilities, and as patterns on the grass also disappeared, he had to admire the progress she had made. He sent a mental message to her.:: *You are doing quite well, Shade.*

Shade had been looking down at the ground momentarily invisible to concentrate on the patterns better. It looked like ripples on smooth water somehow. When she heard the ProfessorĀ“s voice in her thoughts, she raised her head and let her powers slip, raising a hand to switch off the music and look around for him. She spotted him on the patio not too far off and walked towards him, smiling. "Thanks." she said. "I was just messing around having nothing to do."

::The Professor set down the book he had been reading and taking notes on and smiled softly at her.:: "Messing around or not, you are making excellent improvement."

Shade walked closer and sat down on a bench next to the Professor. "I thought it could come in helpful." she said. "maybe more training means I will somewhen be able to access the stealth thing." She was not paranoid, but this aspect of her power had saved her once. Maybe one day she would be glad to have access to it willingly - not just for her own sake.

::The Professor nodded in agreement, and wheeled over to grant her more room at the patio table.:: "We can never be too prepared regarding our abilities."

"I guess so." Shade agreed, before tossing a glance at his books and notes. "Am I keeping you from your work?" she asked.

"Not at all," ::The Professor replied. This was ongoing research, and he never minded her company.::

Shade shifted a little to sit more comfortably. Usually, she might even sit on the table since she was often casual like this, however, now she chose not to. She guessed somehow that the Professor would not approve, so she let it be. "Preparing lessons?" she asked.

"I am," ::The Professor replied. He gestured at the philosophy lesson plan before him.:: "Specifically regarding ethical perceptions of mutants."

"Oh." Shade said, sitting along the bank so she could pull her legs closer to comfortably hug them around her knees. "Anything specific there?" It sounded like an interesting topic.

::The Professor had decided that his philosophy class should focus on mutant issues this semester, considering the press and current events. As such, he had sough out readings with a variety of perspectives.:: "For this next lesson, we will be discussing eugenics, and the ethics of attempts to remove the mutant gene, and conversely, to foster it."

"I think people should just let the x-gene be." Shade said. "No removing or fostering. Sounds kind of unnatural to me."

"That is certainly the view I will attempt to impart," ::The Professor replied, which was his opinion on the matter. If evolution would progress mutants forward, so that eventually they were the majority, it would occur in due time, through normal practices.:: "However, there is an emerging science and I want them to be aware of what is happening, why, and how to cope."
