(Set after the interviews at Xavier´s)
Golem had spent the rest of the day sorting through the material he had gathered so far and he had come to the conclusion that the job he had done was rather presentable - nothing brilliant but certainly okay for a first time, because of course he had never worked as a reporter before this point. When he had returned from the Institute it had already been early evening and he had decided to pull off handing in his things until a few days later, maybe the day after tomorrow, that would give him time to turn his sketches and scribbling (which hopefully would still remain legible the other day) into an article he could feel good with. He would go and see Morph when he had done that.
He had briefly returned to his apartment to change into something more casual. A pair of jeans and a dark blue shirt and he was off towards the city. Feeling like having a bit of a fun night, he ended up at the Hellfire when the place just started to become lively. Leaving his bike in front of it, he entered and had a look around, scanning the not yet too large but growing crowd of dancers and partiers who had come to the Hellfire probably for the same reason he had. He didn´t have any specific plans for tonight besides a little drinking and socialising. He was used to going to places alone, usually there would be someone to talk to or get to know - that was part of what made solo evenings interesting. He made his way through the people and slowly strolled towards the bar.

((Set a few days after: "Market at Union Square"))
Paige was still upset about Odin having that...that b*tch at his apartment, it almost made her feel betrayed. Having left after making sure her sister would be fine by herself, she had gone to the city, knowing exactly where she would be going to. Hellfire.
Entering the place, she was dressed in a pair of high heels, a halter mini dress, and hoop earrings. Her hair was down and curled, and she had light make up on. Taking a seat at the bar, she noticed a man had just come over as well and looked him over. He was kind of cute looking.

Ordering a beer, Elias sat down on one of the bar stools, having a look around the place while the bar tender went to get it ready for him. There were plenty of people around, ages ranging from people just old enough to be at a place like this to middle aged mutants, but then again age was usually hard to tell with their kind. Used to tell the difference in people´s glances, his eyes met that of a young woman who was sitting just a short way from him and who had just tossed him a glance. Feeling in a good mood, he gave her a charming smile and a short nod in greeting.

When he acknowledged her, she smiled back. Once she had her drink she moved to the stool that had been separating them. "Hey, I'm Paige." She told him, the smile still present on her features.

That didn´t sound like a mutant alias, Golem thought, automatically noticing such a detail for no other reason than it being a natural thing for him to do to make observations about strangers. "I´m Elias", he said, mirroring her smile. "Havent´s seen you here before." He had been to the Hellfire two or three times so far therefore an assumption like this was as good a starter for a chat as anything.

"Nice to meet you." Paige said, southern accent present. Playing with the glass of her drink, she looked over at him as he spoke up. "Oh, yeah. I've been here a few times, haven't seen you either."

"Guess we always ran past each other then." Elias chuckled. She already had a drink, otherwise he would have offered to buy her one. Not because he was usually that straightforward when it came to girls, but because he was an open minded person who enjoyed meeting new people and liked to show this. "You´re from New York then?" he asked.

"Yeah." Paige said with an agreeing nod. Taking a sip from her glass, she then set it down and crossed her arms over her chest. At his question she nodded, "Yes...Well, no. I wasn't born here, but I moved here." She explained. Hoping he wouldn't ask exactly where she was from.

The gesture of crossing her arms could be interpreted as one of protection. Maybe being in line with her rather vague answer and Elias shrugged inwardly at that. Meeting people one never knew where the problematic areas of small talk were and he did not feel like digging into something uncomfortable, not when the reason he had come here was to enjoy himself. "Makes two of us then." he said. "seems there is something interesting about the city, drawing people here."

Paige crossed her arms over her chest a lot, because she just felt comfortable that way. She tended to trust people rather easily, though maybe at times she shouldn't. "Where are you from then?" She asked him, relieved to know that he wasn't going to ask where she was from.

Elias took a sip from the beer that the barkeeper placed in front of him that moment before he replied. "Here and there." he said. "I´m not really from anywhere, but if you´re asking about where I came from in the first place, that´d be Scotland." Ever since he had left he had felt at home pretty much everywhere, leading also to feeling a little uprooted at times, but never really miserable. Wandering around had been okay with him for quite some years. All that clearly told others he was not from this part of the world was his still clear Scottish accent.

"Oh, really? I should've guessed that by your accent." Paige said, her cheeks going slightly red. While she loved her family, she wasn't too thrilled of where she grew up. One reason was because of the mutant-hating community down south, and also because people tend to call her a hick, and she hates that.

He gave a small laugh at that but not to make fun of her embarassment. "Well, who knows." he said with a shrug. "It might´ve gotten a little wishy washy over the years, so never mind. I can´t tell every accent apart either." Even though, quite a few. He had a good memory.

"Yeah, that tends to happen. It's not very heavy either." She said, though she knew her accent could be rather heavy at times.

His reply was a short smile before he drank a little more of his beer. "So what brings you to New York?" he asked casually. "Change of scenery?" He was assuming, because it had been just that for him.
