"I can shed the top layer of my skin into something new underneath." She explained, "Do you mind if I show you?" She asked, she wouldn't change all of her skin, just her hand.

She nodded. "Sure, please do," she said, watching her. It was obvious she was fascinated; it was an extremely interesting mutation.

Paige smiled a little, thinking of something for her skin underneath to be, the first thought that came to mind was glass. Casually, she peeled off the top layer of her skin on her right hand. The dead skin dropped to the floor and now her hand was transparent. Looking up at Mystique she waited for her response to that, a small smile playing at her lips.

Mystique's eyebrow rose a little, as Paige casually pulled her skin off, revealing a now transparent hand, seemingly made of glass. "That's pretty impressive," she marveled. "How long can you keep a change like that up?"

A cheeky grin came to Paige's face before she answered Mystique, "'bout an hour." She said. "What about you? I mean...do you have a time set?" She asked curiously.

She shook her head, smiling softly. "No, but if I'm hurt enough or if I fall asleep I lose my concentration," she explained. She was proud of her abilities; it had taken a lot of training to get to this point.

"Thank you," she said appreciatively. "It took a long time and a lot of training, mind you." And it had. She had spent hours upon hours training her body, with Erik's help. But she didn't want to think about that.

She smiled slightly, remembering an incident over a year ago at Alkali Lake, when Kurt had asked that same question. "I can also imitate people's voices?" she asked, mimicking Paige's voice perfectly, a wry grin still in place.

((Oh you know I couldn't pass it up.  )) Paige couldn't help but be a bit shocked when she heard her voice echoed. Mouth hanging open slightly, her eyes went wide. "That is...." She said slowly before trailing off. "So...awesome!" She squealed out, but not loud enough to scare Abigiail, hopefully. |

Mystique chuckled at Paige's amazed squeal, and saw Abby's head turn immediately to the source of the noise. Her eyes widened slightly and she babbled, curious about the sound.

She nodded. "I did, but it came slowly. My mutation didn't just appear overnight; it took awhile for my skin to change, along with my hair and eyes. Everything developed slowly for me."
