The night was slightly cool. It was already dark and the air was still, as if in anticipation of something much greater than Mystique simply taking a walk. She needed some fresh air; the stuffy and crowded atmosphere inside the mansion on a friday night was a little overwhelming. The students were very accepting of her for the most part. But the few who knew her past and disliked her, as well as half of Charles' staff sometimes displayed how strongly they felt about her presence.

So she took a walk on the edge of the gardens, to enjoy the spring air.

Everything was slightly damp from a recent storm, so there was no crunching on dry leaves or twigs, only silence. It was how they snuck up on her. Had the area been dryer, she could have at least gotten a warning before they struck. A handful of people, dressed in all black, crept up on her, unawares, until one of their shoes squeaked. She whirled around, faced with six people, armed with long metal pipes and a myriad of other objects used primarily to hurt. More came from the trees, their cover blown.

Like an animal to be caged, she knew she couldn't escape. Not while she was unarmed and pregnant. She called out, vocally and with her mind, hoping someone would come soon. A man with an axe lunged for her, she struck out with her foot, kicking him in the belly. As he went down, four more took his place, coming at her with pipes. She struck left and right, but for each strike she landed, and for each person she knocked out of the way, two more sprung up. Dodging a crowbar aimed for her head, she was unable to miss the pipe that struck her across her back. The moment that she faltered from pain was enough. They hit her on the side of the head, and she cried out in pain. One bold one came forward, striking her in the belly with something too heavy to be a handheld weapon. Fear went with that pain, and she went down, clutching her stomach. Another blow to the head, and everything faded to black.

“Two down,” one of them muttered triumphantly. Another one cuffed him. “We're supposed to take her and the kid in alive, you idiot,” he said loudly. “How're we supposed to explain it that you went and acted like a dumbass?” He apologized gruffly, and the two of them began to lift her, intending to carry her back with them.

::Xavier had been in a briefing with Hank, Storm, and Scott, when his expresison became one of confused concern. Raven...she had cried out; he had heard her. He narrowed his brow, trailing off from his statement.:: "Something is wrong."

::Xavier shook his head, trying to place the call. Raven's mental voice had quieted suddenly; she was unconscious, hurt. It wasn't natural, the result of an attack. And it was coming from the grounds.:: "We're in danger. Somebody's here. Hide the students."

Scott responded immidatly. "Hank, get to the MedLab. Take Gabby and who ever else you need. Expect injuries. Storm, me and you, outside. Professor, contact Shade and get her to watch the students." He was already moving, grabbing a spare battle visor and heading outside.

"I'll join you in a moment. Battle maneuvers." ::Xavier responded, as he sought out Shade's mind.:: *Shade, the Institute is under attack. Find as many of the students as possible and hide them in the underground tunnels.*

::Focusing his mind, next, on the intruders, his brow creased. Slowly he nodded.:: "At least six, no more than twelve."

Shade had already been half asleep when the mind contact stirred her awake again. Immidiatly her heart began to race and she jumped out of her bed, her adrenaline hight. What was going on? She had a few vague ideas and they scared her.
*Of course professor* she sent back to him.
Throwing a bathrobe over her pyjamas, she left her room, starting to wake the students, herding them away and hopefully further away from danger.

::Xavier wheeled out of his office as soon as he received the confirmation from Shade's mind. His heart raced; he was concerned, afraid. Moreso than he had been when he faced his own death. His students were in danger, all of them. Raven was in danger, his own child at risk.

He remembered a conversation with Erik, at his prison. His swell of pity for whoever attempted to attack the Institute. That pity was gone; all he felt was protective anger. They wouldn't kill, unless necessary, but he wouldn't spare them pain, for attacking.

He wheeled out of the mansion, searching for Raven.:: *Raven, if you can hear me...*

Hearing someone approaching, one of the mutant hounds turned. "We have company," she growled. Her mutation was purely physical, leaving her looking like a cross with a giant bat and a savage wolf.

Shade didn´t stop when she saw Eaglewing, but continued scanning the rooms, gatering the kids. "We´re under attack. I´m taking them to the tunnels. Find the professor. See if you can help." With that she ran on, keeping the children together

A large, burly looking woman with dyed purple hair saw the incoming blast and raised her hands. A Psi shield the size of a kiddie pool formed around the were-girl. She turned to the one who fired, and struck, encasing him in a telekinetic bubble.

Scott's blast lit up the night, and Storm saw what he was shooting at. Taking to the air, she whipped up a wind, letting lightning fall in a pattern towards the psi girl.

*Good lad,* ::Xavier sent to him, telepathically. He continued to wheel towards where the mutant had been hit, scanning the minds ahead of him. What concerned him is that at least some were mutants, highly resistant to his touch. Technology, or conditoning. All the more reason to dispose of them quickly, before they harmed the students.::

"Sh?it" she shouted and started to run down to the Professors office. It was empty, but she heard noise at the outside of the mansion and saw the open door. Carefully, she went to the door and looked out. She could not see very much, but not far away she saw the Professor and send him a mental message 'Professor. I met Shade and she told me that we are under attack. Can I help?'

*Get into the mansion!* ::Xavier sent harshly to Eaglewing and Bobby. He didn't want any of the students injured; their safety was his primary concern. One of the girls was telepathically gifted, that much was evident from her attack on Scott. His attention wavered to the other man, to cancel out the energy. He needed Scott able to fight.

He raised his telepathic shields to their highest level and continued to approach the mutant hounds. He was overconfident, perhaps, after his encounter with Mary. But he refused to be taken down so easily. He wouldn't leave without Raven.:: "Get *off* my property."

Rogue looked out of her window as she heard the commotion and headed for her door.
You have no powers Marie - and even if you did they’d be of little use from such a distance.
She stopped and stood still, panicking for the others when something stirred in her mind. Something that usually didn’t shift until she was asleep. Voices filled her head, some stronger than others and the noise was deafening. In an attempt to shut them out she raised her hands to her head but all that happened was a metal pen her desk zoomed away and fell to the ground. The more she wrestled with the voices the more the pen contorted.
This couldn’t be happening - she never channelled peoples powers this long after absorbing them and now she’d had the cure the likelihood of it happening was next to none and yet she was controlling the metal. She felt the metal in the room hum but it died down as she focused on another voice - another set of memories. She fumbled on her desk for a lighter.
This is madness Marie, she thought as she lit the lighter, leaning it against her palm. The flame moved and sat there not hurting her until she forced it to disappear.

She didn’t know what was happening and didn’t care - the mansion was under threat and for once in her life she could help. Without another thought she pelted down the halls and out into the grounds, trying to find a voice to use. Once outside she saw numerous people mid-fight. One man was holding a metal pole and she used Erik’s power to force it out of his hand and brought it to her. That itself left her feeling slightly drained.

Shade whirled around while she opened another door to one of the dorms. She couldn´t take the time to knock and respect privacy now. "Get up. We´re attacked. I´ll take you into the tunnels. Quick."
Then she heard Kitty´s voice.
"I´m over here Kitty. I´m taking everyone into the tunnel. COme with me. The prof told me to make sure the students are safe."

Eaglewing shrugged as Shadow appeared beside her and turned around "Never, do that again!" she shouted and get her voice down and said "We are under attack and the Professor is outside, but he want that we stay in the mansion" She closed the door and looked carefully through the nearly window. "I cannot see so much" she said and got then her eagle eyes "That is not good" she said.

Storm landed, next to Knightmare. "No idea, but they have Mystique. We need to get her back, now." She sent a message to the Professor. *Two of them, 20 yards away. They have her.*

Kitty followed Shade's voice until she found her, catching her breath as she nodded.

"I'll get as many as I can and then I'll meet you in near the tunnel." she said, trying to regain her composure as she phased into a room with smaller kids, waking them up quickly, telling them as much as she knew before moving onto the next room.

Human: His weapon flew out of his hand, into that of a two-toned haired girl's. He advanced on her angrily, pulling out his long knife.

Her heart was racing, her mind working at high speed as she quickly moved on. When one of the younger children stumbled, she lacked back to help the child up. "You´ll be safe" she said seeking eye contact. "Nothing will happen to you. Come."

It was then Dianna saw Mystique, being dragged away by a couple of thugs.

"Mystique!" she cried.

Anger at the intruders rose in her. Who were these people to think they could infiltrate her new home? She sent her anger at them in a tidal wave, using the power she'd never discovered she possessed. It rippled at the one who had locked the visored man in a bubble of energy.

"LEAVE US ALONE!" she screamed. She tried to push the woman to the ground with her thoughts.

As the guy approached her, Rogue reached for her tacky souveneir lighter, hoping there was enough gas in it. She prayed as she drew John's mind to the surface, his voice blocking out her thoughts as she shot a line of fire at the approaching man.

Psi girl: "No," she said maliciously, grinning. She encased the blue mutant in a bubble, levitating her away from the rest of them. She saw the energy blaster break out of her other bubble; she had too many up. But thankfully another one of them came in to block his blast with his own energy blast.

Energy blaster: His blue energy shot forward, negating the effects of the red bolt sent by the man who escaped the protective bubble.

::Flanked by his X-Men, Xavier felt even more confident. Now he couldn't react emotionally, he had to be logical, speak for the protection of the Institute. As soon as they had Raven, he would take the students with him. He sent his thoughts to Scott, Storm, and Hank.:: *They have a neural inhibitor, blocking my mental presence. We'll have to do this the old-fashioned way.*

*Old fashioned works for me.* Storm sent back, reaching her power forward with both hands and shocking the mutant with the blue energy with lightning, letting it run through him as if he were a conductor.

Energy blaster: He clenched his jaw, unleashing everything he had at the visored mutant, trying to hold the beam back.

Psi-girl was too busy holding up the shield around herself and the blue-skinned mutant to help as the energy blaster was struck by a bolt of lightning. Within seconds, he was done, completely fried.

A large mutant covered in what looked like scaly armor bounded over to help them, accompanied by the wolfish mutant. The wolf woman leapt at the woman with snow-white hair, roaring in glee and bloodlust.

"Back into the mansion!" ::Xavier repeated, directed towards his students. He wouldn't make this fight into a children's crusade; they needed to remain safe.

He wheeled forward; if the telepath wanted to attack, he would stop her from hurting his own mind. To that end, he was immune.:: "Let her go."

Fire manipulator: He felt something tugging at him, and saw a girl nearby. Letting go of their load, he shot a column of flame at her. He resumed his part in carrying the blue mutant.

Psi girl: "Sorry, can't do that," she said casually. The scaled mutant bounded forward.

Rogue ran forward slightly and saw Mystique suspended in what looked like a bubble, flanked by the X-Men. The professor was telling them all to go back inside but she had never listened at the best of times. She surfaced John's thoughts again as they would be the quickest form of defence.

Rogue walked up behind the Professor, Scott and Storm, keeping her distance. She hadn't nearly crashed the X jet or spent weeks taking orders from Bobby in the danger room to turn back when she could help. Even if she didn't wear her Xs any more - these people were her family.
*where do you want me?* she sent to the professor, going over what had happened to her powers as quickly as she could.

"Hank, get her!" ::Xavier called to the other man. He didn't intend to let them take her away, but he could hardly step out of his chair and grab her himself. And his powers were useless at the moment, apart from damage control.

Hearing Rogue, he mentally sighed. He would prefer her remain inside, but he was touched that she still intended to help them, despite her desire to leave.:: *Wherever Scott tells you to be.*

Making the ice from the ground turn into a ramp he shot into the air shoting ice projectiles at the bubble but seemed not to stick

Scaled boy: He saw the furry blue mutant coming, and barely had time to react as he landed on his shoulders. He was only minorly phased by the crashing of his blue fists into his head. He brought an arm up, launching dagger-like spikes at him.

Fire manipulator: He was pulled to the ground, and grew very, very angry. Sending his whole body aflame, he shot jets of flame every direction outwards, especially towards the gravity-pulling girl.

The wolf girl fell, but recovered, and ran into the trees, only to launch herself from a branch, attaching herself to the flying white-haired mutant.

Tides lifted herself in the air once more, hovering up over the lake. Getting inspired, she pulled the water from it's safe point and dropped it onto the fire manipulator.

Cyclops was surprised to see Rogue on the battle field, as last time he checked, she was powerless, then he noticed the fire. Not having much time to dwell on it, he responded. "Rogue, Bobby, free Mystique!" Storm and Hank were already engaged. There was a person manipulating the tides that he didn't recognize, but looked like a student. "Get inside!" He shouted towards her.

Rogue looked over at Bobby before looking back at Mystique. She didn't know what was suspending her there but knew it had something to do with the trespasser standing next to her. She flicked her hand upwards and shot a flame towards the person. It was small but she hoped it would be effective.

She saw lightening flicker from outside and was somewhat comforted, knowing that Storm and probably most of the X-Men were out there. She took in a small breath and opened the door to another dorm, waking up all of the children in it.

Rogue stopped the line of fire as a man she didn't know stepped infront of the person she was aiming at. He looked so much like Erik she had to do a double take but quickly refocused and surfaced Erik himself, taking the metal pole she had removed from an attacker earlier and manipulating it to head towards a human and bind him to a tree, something she knew she wouldn't be able to hold up for long.

Wolf-girl: With the combination of the energy blast and lightening, she was fried. Twitching, she shuddered, and fell off the other mutant.

Scaled: With an arm slamming the ground, he pulled his head free, focusing his eyes in a hateful glare at the furry blue mutant. "Don't mess with me," he warned. Spikes grew on his entire body, shredding his tight-fitting vest, and shot out in all directions at blue, the woman entangled with the wolf, and the girl who was battling the pyro.

Pyro: He got to his feet, and, angered, shot a jet of flame instead underneath the bubble, acting as a burner on the stove. "Get away or I cook her," he said evilly, grinning. The Psi-girl sent him a warning message, but he didn't listen.

Telekinetic: She saw the Pyro had company, and they couldn't lose their charge. She strode over, holding out a hand and keeping the silver haired man and woman in place. "He really will fry the blue girl, you know," she said darkly.

Pyro: He saw ice cover his own flames and became enraged. Covering himself in fire, he used his power to lash out in a fiery whip, entangling the boy made of ice. He could see steam rising, and grinned, a hand still under the bubble, torching the woman.

Rogue lost the hold on the metal and swore loudly as the human was set free. She took a few deep breathes, gathering her strength again as she fumbled with the lighter, trying to focus all her energies on John. Chanelling Mystique was too risky and Logan would only be of help if she needed to heal. Speaking of Logan she was suprised not to see him but brushed the thought away.

Dia, caught in the hayday that was currently inside the masion, rushed to a window and gasped at all the fighting going on outside. She glanced back down the hallway and saw Kitty and a few others dealing with the younger students. Making up her mind, she ran down to the medical lab. She didn't risk sending anyone an illusion, telling them where she was, but instead just hoped they would be smart enough to send all the injuries down.

Scaled mutant: Hit with the force of a battering ram, he was knocked over, into the telepathic bubble the psi girl was in. He rebounded, and crashed into the blue beast.

Telekinetic: "I think I'll be okay, darling," she said silkily. A fallen pipe levitated, shooting towards the white-haired woman, to smack her in the side still raw from wolf-girl's claws. She still held the man firmly.

Psi-girl: Determined to do something, she saw the ice boy trying to douse pyro's flames, and encased him in another bubble, where he was unable to shoot out ice.

Telekinetic: Without flinching, she shot the metal pipe back and off to the side, to strike at the gravity manipulating girl.

Psi-girl: She heard the shout for those to try and overwhelm her with their powers, and wasn't worried. Concentrating, she reinforced her barriers. Then, with the girl trying to send her downward, and the shadow boy trying to lift her skyward, she found herself steadied on air. It was amusing.

Scaled: He got up, and launched an array of spikes at the one shooting the laser beam.

Cyclops was destracted trying to keep track of the students and still come up with the battle plans. He noticed the movement of the spike slightly too late. He managed to move slightly, so it grazed his side. Wincing he shot another large beam at the scaled mutant. "Get Shadow inside!" He shouted.

Psi-girl: She saw the attack a little too late, as the shadow-boy covered her own bubble with a mask of shadow. She couldn't breath. In a rage, she let her control waver over the bubble containing the blue mutant, letting her fall to the ground.

She focused on creating a bubble around the shadow-boy, containing him in it. She knew how to make it airless, just like he could. Only she could squeeze hers. With impressive force, she squeezed the bubble tightly on him, aiming to break ribs.

A human, one of the few not unconscious, took out his gun and shot at the airborn weather mutant. He was a marksman, and could handle himself under pressure.

"I'm so sorry," she said to the air.

Landing, she saw Storm. Deciding to kill two birds with one stone, she lifted the weather goddess as best she could.

"I got her!" she called to the visored guy.

She headed inside.

Wrapping herself in energy, she propelled herself into the air, the grass turning to ash under her, and headed towards Knightmare. Her eyes turned green, and the bubble around him turned to ash.

Scaled: Back on his feet, he shared a look with the telekinetic, who saw the girl turn Psi's bubble into ash. The telekinetic concentrated, halting the girl in her tracks, while he shot a bodyful of spikes in that direction, towards her and the shadow-boy.

A human dodged an enemy blast of flame, and aimed his gun, firing a round at the girl with two-toned hair.

"Typhoid, focus on the Bubble Girl!" Cyclops shouted. Typhiod was an interasting case, and he gave up trying to get the other students off the battlefield. He shot a weak beam towards the human, trying to ignore the pain in his side.

Rogue swore, the flames disapearing quickly along with her energy. Erik came to the front of her mind almost automatically - the bullet slowing but she didn't have enough energy to stop it. She quite literally dived out of the way, scraping up her side on the ground through her thin clothes. She couldn't keep this up - her whole body was losing energy and the people in her mind becoming less powerful.

::he growled in anger, sending the Psi-Girl into the air, releasing the shadow ball around her, and lunged at the Spike-thrower, singking his claws barely into it's thick, scaley hide, then kicked off his chest, wrapped him a shadow arm, sent him flying towards Tim, and back-flip kicked him in the jaw::

Pyro: "Let me try." He lit himself aflame, and shot twin columns of flame at the ashing girl, with enough heat to melt bones.

Psi-girl: Sent into the air, she steadied herself with a new bubble, gasping for air. Furious, she concentrated on the energy blasting boy, who was clearly injured. She encased him in a bubble again, squeezing it against him, trying to break his ribcage. Searching, she looked for their target. Where the hell was she? Spotting an ice mutant, she sent out a message for Spyke to interrupt them. He went bounding forth, sending a flurry of spikes at them.

Ty heard Scott's yell and rose higher in the air, spreading her power out around her, before landing beside the pyro boy, a wicked smile on her face. "Is that all...." Her shielding sparkled around her, deflecting the fire with little effort.

As the bubble tried to crush Cyclops, he tried to resist screaming. The compression was not helping his wound. He lashed out with the most powerful beam he could make hopeing to break the bubble.

Inside, Kitty finished checking all of the younger children's rooms, ending up with one small girl in her arms who flinched at every noise outside. Kitty held onto the girl tightly as she slipped through the walls, running towards the tunnels and looking for Shade and Eaglewing, hoping that none of the intruders would make their way inside.

At that Rogue had lost conciouness - Erik's power humming through her veins as the fallen bullet levitated and sped towards Psi-Girl's head.
After that final use of strength, Rogue fell to the ground heavily and blacked out.

Grinning wider, Ty turned to ash and floated around the pryo boy, rematerializing behind him. She removed a glove. "Not fast enough...." she said wickedly before reaching up and touching him. He dissolved, skin and muscle and bones going in layers before there was nothing left.

She grimaced against the Others telling her to let loose, just kill everything....no. That wasn't what she wanted. She ran in the direction of the psi girl.

Kitty turned quickly, jumping at the voice as the girl in her arms whimpered.

"John!" she called back, feeling relief to see that he was all right.

"Are you okay? I just rounded up all of the younger kids, and they went with Eaglewings and Shade to the tunnels- I found this one in her room- Do you know what's going on?" she said quickly.

Ty took to the air again, the grass ashing beneath her, saw Cyclops being crushed by an energy bubble. She landed in front of him, and ran her bare fingers across the bubble, shattering it.

Cyclops fell out of the bubble, gasping. He was injured, but he was also the field leader. Fighting to stay concious, he glanced at Ty. "Take out the bubble girl, try not to kill her." He gasp, trying to rise to his feel.

Psi-girl, shocked and captivated by what had just happened to Pyro, didn't sense the bullet soon enough, and had to hurry up and put her shields up before it struck them soundly. Her concentration had wavered, and the girl ashed the one around the energy manipulator.

Telekinetic girl gasped in shock at what was happening to her teammates, and lashed out, holding fast to the ashing girl as well as the silver speed demon next to her.

Scaled: He had been bounding towards the ice mutant, but lost them. Turning, he saw the blue furry man. "Come here, you," he said, grinning wickedly; his steps cracked the earth beneath him. This was going to be fun.

A human looked up, seeing a girl in his range. He was hurt, bleeding from more than one spot, and not too sure if he was going to last. He pulled out his handgun, and, taking careful aim, fired at what looked to be a fire manipulator.

Inside the mansion, Kitty looked up at John and shook her head.

"I'm not going to get hurt, John- I was fine the last time this happened, and I'll be fine this time too- The Professor told me to help these kids get in the tunnels, and by the way he said it, he probably meant for you to go with us, too-" she said, flinching at a loud noise outside and adjusting the small girl in her arms.

Ty was growing angry, the Others in her head boiling, their voices beating against her brain. She muttered to Scott..."Get out of my way..." before she began to direct energy across the grass, spreading in a wave towards the teke girl she knew held her. Her eyes flashed green for a moment, then turned black, and she broke free, floating into the air. She landed on top of the teke girl, flashing green fire, and held her down as she died underneath the touch of her skin.

Cyclops couldn't run at the moment, in fact he was barely holding onto conciousness as he lost blood. He estimated he could stay up for maybe a minute or two more. He was behind Typhoid anyway. He leveled a shot at the Spike Mutant hoping to knock him out.

"Listen, I'll go down to the tunnels and give this girl to Shade, and we'll ask her what's going on- We shouldn't be just standing here-" she said, looking down the hall.

Psi-girl: Her eyes widened as the speed demon came up too close too fast, and she encased herself in a psionic bubble, reinforcing it with her thoughts so that not even his speed could get him in there. Unbeknownst to her, the small chip that inhibited other strong telepaths from interfering came out. It had been embedded in her arm, but, due to injuries from crossfire, it was open and bleeding, the small chip dislodging and falling away, allowing Xavier to get through.

Scaled: He went down, like a mountain tipped over, shaking everything with him. Turning around, he saw the blue furred mutant. "About time, blue boy," he growled, and grabbed onto the other man's feet. Spikes shot out of his hands.

"Pietro, move away," ::Xavier said, his voice oddly serene. Contrasted with his eyes, which flashed darkly, filled with anger, a protective swell. This was his home, a sanctuary for his children. And this woman before him had inflicted pain, so very much pain to them all. She had possibly killed his child; if that happened...

The chip fell from her arm, leaving her vulnerable to his attack. Focusing his thoughts, he pushed into her mind, painfully forcing his way through her shielding. Just as he was about to wipe her mind from the inside out, he noticed an impurity. It was conditioning, mental conditioning. He couldn't tell by who, but it wasn't her free choice.

He forced her into a deep state of unconsciousness, watching as she fell to the ground at Pietro's feet.:: "Restrain her, take her inside."

::Pietro fixed the other man with an incredulous look. Certainly Uncle wouldn't let his forgiving nature take over, not now. Not in the face of everything this woman had done, a traitor to her own kind. She deserved no sympathy. Yet, he knew that if he didn't obey, Uncle could make him comply. The look in his eyes betrayed his anger; Pietro wouldn't take the risk.

He picked the girl up in his arms, and glanced at the other man with a nod. Then he sped into the mansion, not making conversation. If she became a security risk, he could easily snap her neck.

The humans, seeing their 'impervious' comrades fall, made a hasty exit. All the ones that were still alive or able to move, anyways. A small shining pin was dropped from one in their exit, and was crushed underfoot. There weren't many AGP pins in circulation amongst the grunts, and only one of the humans had been of high enough rank to have one. In his fear and retreat, he lost it.

The grounds had turned into a disgusting battlefield, and stank of burning, thanks to the crazy pyrokinetic. The attacking mutants dead, it was up to the X-Men to get rid of what remained.

She looked around. The battle was ending, clean up was starting. Walking back to the mansion, she kept an eye out, not feeling like having to fight some human on a suicide run. She pulled her glove back on as she walked, sidestepping the charred body of a wolf-girl.

A wolf girl she recognized.

She did a double take at first, then stood for a moment, trying to convince herself it wasn't real, before setting off to the mansion at a run. The woman had been a Morlock.

::Xavier saw a small gleam from the grass, surrounded by piles of ash. Wheeling over to it, he leaned forward and picked up the object. It was a pin, of a symbol he didn't recognize. When Raven, his X-Men, and the students were safe, he would begin exploring the usual channels to find information.

Tucking the pin into his pocket, he turned around, surveying the grounds. He was enraged, moreso than he could ever remember. He was also consumed with concern for his students, his X-Men, Raven and his child. He called out to those in the mansion, to see who was well.:: *If you hear me, tell me if you're all right.*

"What?" he asked, shocked. He looked around in every direction, finally locating his fallen daughter. Running over, he felt her back. Blood oozed from her injuries, and her breathing was shallow. "Oh, God," he whispered. "Not again, please God!" He cradled her in his arms, one of his clones picking up Rogue, and took them inside. Tears streamed down his face. His baby girl...His only daughter...Dying in his arms. He bit back his anger and rage and ran the two girls into the Med Lab.
